**** sake, I just managed to lose all of what I had written, and I was so close to being done. ****ing hell, I hate when that happens - now I need to reload all the screenshots and re-write
everything. Also, double post - so what? Shoot me.
It pleases me my lord, to learnt that you have reached Duneard without hinderance - the armies of Rohan to the south pose a significant problem to any troop movement. The construction experience you will no doubt recieve there will be invaluable in the times to come, and should greatly improve the income provided by your adminstration. Perhaps that wildman
brute of a leader can learn something valuable from your stay there.
It may also please you to learn that we may have some...unexpected allies in this war against Rohan. The armies of Harad will surely provide some much needed aid in this war against the horse lords. We should see about aquiring a diplomat and opening relations with them, my lord. The enemy of our enemy is our friend.
The...armies to the south my lord, are a clear danger to our forces. I fear for the safety of Isengard, my lord. The troops we have here are not enough to resist an army that size should it decide to press it's advantage and lay siege to the capital, and so I hope that it does not displease you to learn I have ordered the retraining of the diminshed units from Lord Ugluk's previous...
encounter, as well as the recruitment of what ever units are available. I have also order the construction of a drill square, which will allow us to recruit the feared reavers, and their axes that can cleave a man and rider in two. I hope it shall be enough, for without Isengard our power will be sorely diminshed and it, and the newly constructed mines, will serve only to bolster the enemies strength.
The dark lord has also given us a mission to complete my lord - a test of strength, perhaps? Fortunately our northern most army is close to the village of Tharbad, which we have been tasked with taking, and if successful we will surely recieve some extra forces at our capital to aid our war effort. It is only a rebel village, and the leaderless dredges of society will surely bow to our superior forces.
These armies to the south worry me my lord. I...I fear for the survival of Isengard if these armies of Rohan are relentless in their pressing. I hope you do not find it cowardly of me then, to discover I have called for an invasion of Edoras from the Dark Lord Sauron. He has agreed, and soon the armies of men and orcs shall descend upon Rohan: I hope it will buy us enough time to rebuild our strength, and to take part ourselves lest we fall out of favour with Sauron.
Hopefully our fortunes will improve after this night, my lord.
My lord...my lord? I hope you wil not...
punish me for bringing you this news, my lord, but Isengard has been laid siege to by the armies of Rohan from the south. Hopefully the garrison under Lord Ugluk will be enough to hold them, although I fear that unless we recieve some aid soon then Isengard is lost, especially if they bring any reinforcements to bolster their forces. A wise choice, my lord, to leave for Duneard beforehand.
Perhaps it will please you that our northern army is in position to carry out the mission assigned to us. No siege equipment is required either, as it is only a village. There are no walls that will sheltre these rebels from the wrath of our men!
I applaud the decision to split our forces my lord, as surely a double pronged attack will crush the enemy. Our men will be as a hammer blow, falling on the helms of our enemies.
The enemy hold their position in the square my lord, afraid to meet us in open battle, the cowardly exiles...
Our men move up into position, my lord, and the skirmishers move into range.
Once the spears of our Snaga are spent, there is little else they can do other than fight along side the wildmen. Things are looking positive at this stage my lord, our enemies are being forced together and surrounded by our men.
Cowards! These wildmen are little more than animals, my lord, willing to run at the first sign of a fight. These men will find no mercy from our forces should they ever resurface. Their rout can only serve to demoralise our men further, and weaken our force. We still have a numerical advantage though my lord...there is still a chance, whilst the remainder of our men fight.
My lord...I fear this battle is lost. Our captain has been slain whilst cleaving his way through the enemy forces. This can lead to no good effect amongst our men...
The majority of our force remains though my lord, and is still fighting. Not all is lost, we can still victory here today.
We...have lost, my lord Saruman. Our forces have routed, fleeing the battlefield to save their own hides. They will not be praised, nor remembered in songs of battle. These...cowards...shall be used recklessly, thrown onto walls of spears or to break lines of enemies. It is all that is fit for them.
Things aren't looking good, are they? I'm beginning to regret declaring war on Rohan so early - if they take Isengard it's finished, essentially, as I'll be on almost no income per turn and only able to recruit wildmen and snaga who, as we've seen, are ****ing
crap. Could be a very short campaign.
