I just wonder what is the actual public support for wikileaks?

Personally I approve of wikileaks. It's been interesting to see how much politicians (mostly American politicians) fear the truth. They could have held their hands up and said "Yeah, our people said those things. So what? It's how international politics works, and it's not like we're the only ones doing it - we're the only one with a major leak." Instead, they threw their toys out of the pram and used all sorts of crappy excuses for trying to shut the site down. Pretty cowardly.

Found that interesting

Anyway. I am still on the fence with Wikileaks and Anonymous.  Anon is starting to get annoying, especially if they ever succeed to take down paypals site so close to Christmas.

Imagine this: thousands of whiny kids having a tantrum because their Wii/DS/Videogame wasn't under the tree.

They just throw in some memes in that video.

etc.

In Holland they're saying there's armies of coders working on taking down Mastercard and such.

And Russia

In what appears to be a calculated dig at the US, the Kremlin urged non-governmental organisations to think seriously about "nominating Assange as a Nobel Prize laureate".

"Public and non-governmental organisations should think of how to help him," the source from inside president Dmitry Medvedev's office told Russian news agencies. Speaking in Brussels, where Medvedev was attending a Russia-EU summit yesterday , the source went on: "Maybe, nominate him as a Nobel Prize laureate."

Also, Rafael Correa, President of Ecuador, suggested his country should give asylum to Assange. Furthermore, in the recent Iberoamerican summit held in my country, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua wanted to include in the final declaration a statement condemning USA for the cables; however this didn't catch on. Of course, these governments aren't exactly buddies of USA.
A bit weird considering how targeted the Russians are, due to the whole Russian/Italian relationship.

When I think of Anonymous, I automatically think of this:
 "The Laughing Man"

It kinda fits as well. if you know the backstory to the logo.

Laughing man was a very talent hacker in the series Ghost in the Shell, Stand Alone Complex ...he could hack live broadcasts and anybody with cybernetic implants with the laughing man logo over the persons head to remain anonymous. It all started over a corrupt political incident, which Im sorry to say, forgot ....its been a while
