Hi

Trying to get the demo to work - I double click the file to start, and my machine instantly reboots. I'll get the error message later (just have to turn on the option to see them :D).

Machine setup:

Win XP Home (Swedish edition) SP2
512ddr
Radeon 8500, tried several drivers inc latest
SB Live (tried turning off sound accel)

No debuggers/hacking programs loaded or installed on system. Notepad shows just one thread (re: thread hijacking). 0 spyware, 0 viruses.

Running a minimal set of programs, no web browser, minimised amount of services, disabled firewall + no AV.

I feel the problem is with the copy protection misfiring? Reading up on it, it certainly seems this could be the case.

Any advice on getting this thing to work?

Edit// Also what is the correct procedure for removing the Themida hidden driver from the machine once you have uninstalled the game? Just noticed it as a hidden entry in Device Manager. I like to try and clean up things like this that serve no purpose after the app it was protecting has been removed.

Hi KevInSweden,

Can you try removing rgl_log.txt in the Mount&Blade root folder and check if the game will generate a new log file?

By the way, no device drivers are installed with the game. Themida's device driver is kept within the game executable. So it is not loaded if the game is not run.

I'll redownload the file and will post whatever error log I get :)

Re: The driver, I think the one I found was most likely from another piece of software. So I apologise.

I know bumping old posts is often frowned upon, but I just wanted to mention that the new release 0.710 has fixed this issue. None of the prior versions worked, all exhibiting the same BSOD.

So far from what I've played of this game it gets a big thumbs up from me. I'll play it until the Level 5 limit a few times, then most likely will be purchasing. Far better than I expected :)

Bumping threads is bad. Refreshing, updating, or adding to old threads is good. :)

Anyways, great to hear it! There are a few bugs in 0.710 as Armagan just added several big changes ... so hopefully this won't hurt your opinion of this great game.

Good luck and see you around,

Narcissus
