Installing patch

Users who are viewing this thread

Do I have to overwrite each individual folder with the new ones in the patch?
Here's what I did was opened the patch with winzip and extracted to Mountandblade/modules/pop2.0.
The patch is in there but when I start the game it still just says pop2.0.  Should it say 2.1?  Everything looks the same.
Sorry for being a noob I just never installed a patch on M&B

The launcher still says 2.0, that`s normal. When you extracted were there any messages "Do you want to overwrite blabla....."?

To make entirely sure you patched it, extract the patch into another folder (create one on your desktop for example) and then cut everything in this folder out and paste it into the pop folder

I'll try that but I thought I did that already.  Will I know right away if it's patched?  Is there a new looking map?  I tried right clicking on a lord and I had options of "view notes" and "move here".  I never noticed that before is it new?  I dunno maybe it did patch.

Thanks for the reply btw

Try to use a savegame of version 2.0 with your maybe-patched 2.01 version...if everything on you map is on the wrong place you patched the mod

Mhm, that's weird...you're sure you extracted the content of the patch folder (the .txt files) and not the folder itself? I don't know what could be wrong, normally your game should be patched to 2.01..

  umm yeah. that's exactly what I did.  I was simply copying the folder icon into the pop folder.

Ok so for any nitwits like myself....don't do that.  Make sure you copy the CONTENTS of the folder to the pop 2.0 folder.
So now the map is all funky.  I gotta download the fixed map and replace it?

And thank you for helping faradon.

Yup I got the fix.  It all works great now.  Map looks nice too.  It's a lot more refined without the jagged edges to the water.  Nice!

Thanks for bringing this up, as I've had the same problem.

...

Buuuuut... I may as well wait until the patch is patched.

Hey I'm glad my ineptness could help someone else out :???:

Also, no reason to wait if you want to play!  Just download the patch to the desktop, then download the fixed map to the desktop.  Theeeeen copy the CONTENTS of the patch to the pop folder.  Then while you're in there delete the file that says map, and copy the downloaded map in there instead.  Viola!  You can play.
