Installing mods

This may be a stupid question, but i just bought Mount&Blade, and i couldn't see any topics on it, but how do i install mods? i tried running the installer packs but no changes in game. What directory do i havt to install them to. I tried the mount&blade/mods folder.

In my experience most mods involves replacing files in the modsnative directory and maybe the textures directory.

So make a full backup of native, and replace the files there with the mods.

That's how it's done. For example, if you're planning to install the sound mod, you would first (for safety) make a duplicate of the original sound files (call it maybe SoundSafety), then copy the sound mod into the original sound folder. Absent an assisted mod installer/deinstaller, that's how you'd do it.

I'm concerned that eventually I'll have this weird hybrid game with different mods and I'll have to reinstall and my serial key will be good for only a couple of uses and...doom & gloom.
