Insanity?

Maybe there could be some option that you can turn on to have a chance of your character becoming temporarily insane when you take a lot damage at once in battle. This would perhaps double or triple your damage dealt (due to the increased ferocity and fervor of your attacks), but would cause you to only be able to see how much damage you are dealing to other people, and take away your health display and not tell you how much damage you are taking.

Maybe not just damage, going against a superior enemy force could just make you snap. There's this old finnish saying 'hullulla on hullun voimat', roughly translates as 'madmen have madmans strength'. A lot of books claim that when a person goes over the edge he's as though on drugs. Incredibly strong and hard to take down. So, maybe if you go completely bat**** loco, you'd have double your normal hitpoints, 1.5 times the normal damage dealt, etc. However, you should be unable to use ranged weapons or block. This was just off the top of my head really. Better ideas always welcome.

Oh you guys mean berserk stuff as in the Viking wearing only a bear skin and swinging an ax like a flail. When you say insane I think of the Call of Cthulu or the Osmonds.

Perhaps there should be a random chance of when you swing at a friendly unit have it actually hit them. I like the idea of no ranged. No horses while insane would be good too. Also, if you went insane too often you could lose charisma temporarily.

You know what else you should see while insane? More troops. Hallucinations of troops that aren't there. like just throw 2 or 3 copies of troops that are on the battlefield and don't have them solid or damage dealing etc.

How about crazy like: When playing you see all the enemies as pink marshmallow elephants and all weapons are made out of chocolate and rivers run with porridge.

It would make the battles more interesting, especially if the enemies and party members do it too. But I don't care about damage indicators, because I always make crosshairs/flying words and stuff disabled.

I really wouldn't dismiss the idea without considering. It's interesting.

Sometimes when I'm using my war bow I fire at everything I see and sometimes when I'm using my battleaxe I generally swing at everything within reach whether I can see it or not.

So a berserk moment or two on the battlefield could be interesting.

Now there's an idea.

I was thinking that conversations could be 'screwy', in that you can only give inappropriate responses to what NPCs say. Further, you only get to read distorted versions of what they are actually saying.

I would hate to have to write all the conversations though

Armagan could use Gizoozle, those people are insane, yes?

Yes it is. Thanks actually. Well, I had copied out the whole thing, so one typo isn't too bad at least. Too bad I can't use the whole thing.
