That doesn't make me any less correct.  It's my duty to educate the great unwashed masses.

And yet, are you crusading here for months long sieges that 95% consist of waiting if the garrisson surrenders due to starvation before their reinforcements come, or against the fact that Calradia has a subtropical desert just a couple hundred kilometers at most from permafrost? Those things are much more unrealistic....
Months-long sieges aren't so unrealistic, though some real-life sieges lasted years. We already have the option for prolonged sieges in Warband, so I don't see what the fuss is about here. Also, are we not aware of the proximity of the Gobi desert to the permafrost? Just saying, it could happen.

Who ever said the deserts in calradia were subtropical?

Palm trees, oases, native people wearing clothing typical for Saharan natives...sounds sub-tropical Sahara-like desert to me.

BTW....Gobi is vast, and most of it, especially the northern parts, is totally unlike the Sarranid desert.

true. But You can get deserts and palm trees on a temperate region not so far from snowy areas... Take a relatively small region like the state of California (compared to Claradia): It's got Snow on the northern parts during winter and large tropical drylands (the Sonora desert) on the south. I guess there are around 500 km at the shortest betwen those areas, but I could be wrong.

Isn't this thread about cloaks and capes?

I'm all in for them, would be super cool to wear a cape in battle, I don't mind if it's not realistic whatsoever.

Combat cloaks are the gateway drug to dual-wielding.

Now i am happy...

It is amazing how they nailed it.
I dont see any clipping issues. If they even handled this long cape without leaving any clipping issues I think chances are high that they fixed at least most of the stuff we had seen in gamescom 2017 cpt. mode.

I think the only clipping issues are when the player is carrying an item on their back - like a bag of javelins for example.

Although what they've done with that cape is remarkable.

Yes, it looks very good. I wonder if it starts its 'life' in that tattered state or whether that happens after a battle or two of losing a lot of health (which would explain the item changing to this torn version). I suspect that the former is correct, though it seems a bit strange to have such a raggedy cape on sale! Or perhaps it was loot from a previous battle, presumed damage, in the same way that we get some lame horses after a Warband battle? It looks like a rich man's cape in poor condition, in any case.

Not bad! Not perfect, but looks good enough to give that sexy look and not distract from the battle with clipping or something.

Definitely blood stains. I hadn't noticed any "torn" until I've read it here, then I inspected it closely: it's reflective blood. Not perfect, but awesome nonetheless.
Also I do not think more than 5-6 troops should wear capes. I would want almost anyone to wear them, because I love me sum capes, but think of the processing! I do not mind having a mod to add capes to more troops, but native should only have some very specific elite tier troops with capes. Small cloaks and capes is not a problem, but long capes can look jarring if a lot of troops wear them, and I think it could burden the processing units of less fortunate gamers.

It's little things like this that really make you realise how much attention to detail is being paid to the game.

Maybe blood stains ?
On closer inspection that's what it seems to be, it just has weird reflections or smth that makes it look like it's torn.

It seems so obvious they are bloodstains now that it has been pointed out! I can't see them as tears anymore; it must have been a combination of it being a small image due to it being a GIF (also never going to look quite as it does when playing the game in person), the red of the cape, and the lighting at different angles. I think you are right about the reflections; when the surface of the cape is parallel to the camera, they are clearly red bloodstains, but when the angle of the body changes so that the cape is at an angle to the camera, the light catches parts of the stain differently. When playing the game full screen with the better quality that naturally comes from playing real time, rather than in a video or GIF, it might never confuse anybody.
