Increasing relationship

So, I want to marry some lady and I need her fathers permission to talk to her. At first he tells me about Boyar Kumipa and how he is a better catch for his daughter. At that point Kumipa had a castle a village and 700 renown. I went up to 850 renown and got a town and 3 villages and ask for his permission. Now he says he doesn't know me enough and when I ask for his quests, he says how he should send some of his men to do them. If I ask him about the two of us working together to better out position in this realm he just doesn't know what to tell me and that he will ask me later if he needs anything.
How can I increase my relationship with him? Is there some kind of cheat or something similar.
All I have with him now is +2 which I got when I helped him when he was attacked.
