Increasing faction relations

My problem is rather simple, but I suppose a little backstory is in order. tl;dr at the bottom
I searched for it in the forums and everywhere else, nothing.

I was a rhodok vassal for about 200~ days. Things were ok, wars were mostly against sarranids and one against even the nords that claimed vyincourd and ryibelet.
I got Ruldi as my first fief (also I denied first offer to become a vassal and Ruldi certainly wasnt the poorest settlement when I got it) and I was generally a decent vassal.
During one of the wars with the nords I defeated about 4 or so lords in 1on1 battles and after that war ended we got Almera back the king granted it to me along with Saren.
Things went well, I had around 400 men in total at my peak of power. Had to repel several 1:4 ratio offenses but as long as I win it was fine. Afterwards, during one war with the sarranids the marshal decided to go for Shariz rather than Jamiche castle (stupid, but ok - I thought).  And the best of it all was when after a few days of siege Graveth called for a feast in Jelkala, naturally all lords leave and abandon the entire war effort and leave me alone to defend Almera from all the sarranid lords alone, I was pissed to say the least. And even more pissed when I lost Almera and Saren with it.
Rather than ragequit the game, I ragequited my vasalship to Graveth due to that and the sarranid mamlukes which are tremendously op(I wished I could say a few choice words to him), but I regret the decision of leaving right now.
I thought Id go do tournaments, get lots of money, use mixed troops rather than the all-rhodok army (which is worth nothing against a single cav charge) and then, perhaps, join the Nords or Swadians.

A few weeks after the day when I renounced my oath to Graveth I get a vassalship offer from Harlaus (sp) which I rejected because I felt I still had to do a few tournaments and grind on some bandits.
Much to my surprise when I rejected I got -10 with the entire swadian faction, making them all hostile towards me (I wonder if the cause is that I had 1000 renown and 50 right to rule). I thought Id go and offer the peace tribute, but not a single lord accepts it and now my relations are down to -16 from fighting and fleeing from the Swadians.
A while later same thing happened with Sarranids and Nords (to which I could luckily pay a tribute for peace).
Rather than wait until everyone brands me a bandit I thought Id seek help.

I thought I might get a mercenary contract which could reset my relations with factions but no wars are in progress and it has been peaceful for about 60days now.

tl;dr How do I increase faction relations with a faction if they are hostile towards me when I am not a part of any faction? Cant get the tribute option from lords.
Havent done anything hostile towards them.

one thing you could do is try to help them in fights against bandits. which will increase the relation with said lord and a small increase in faction relations

Are you saying that when you quite a side during a war you didn't go to a neutral status?  The only times I didn't go to a neutral status while leaving one side during a conflict was during beta.  I wonder if this is a bug?  You have negative relations with a faction and not just individual lords whom you angered?

Helping them with any fight = positive relations with faction and lord. If you're the assistor, you don't get any negative rep hit with the target, either. And if there is more than one "enemy" lord, you might be given the chance to release him for a rep and honor gain.

Ergo, always, always assist the side you think is going to win if you have the time. The risk-free relationship gains are worth it in the long run.

The only problem is he has to belong to a faction and in in active conflict with that faction.  He has neither and can't get hired or belong to a faction because of his rep.

Im sorry if I didnt explain it quite right.

The thing is that after I left the rhodoks everything was fine and dandy - I participated in tournaments, gained renown and builded up a fortune that I believed I would need (no bugs or anything buggy).

Here is the catch: I get vassalship offers quite often (had 3 now in a month) and if I decline I get -10 with the faction relations (meaning everyone from them is hostile(this is not quite the usual thing that happens when you only get -3 relation with the king)).
Couldnt get the option to make peace with swadians, but luckily got it for nords. Also I got a offer of vassalship from sarranids which I refused and againg I got a -10 in my faction relations with them too.

Rejecting vassalship comes with a -10 to faction relations  (meaning they attack me on sight) and I get offers too often. Im wondering how to get out of this situation.
Im open to using cheats to modify my relations to 0 too, if someone could tell me how and quickly join a faction afterwards.

Ive never understood why your relations with a faction go to 0 when you leave.

mine was 100 with the nords (99 i think.. but kept saying 100) and as soon as I left, it went to 0. How did that scenario happen? and they INSTANTLY declared war on my new faction.

Messager: "Sire, a message from lord astronesthes, he has declared himself a king!"

King:"Good, place it he--- whos this?" <--- 25 relations

Messanger: "I dont know sire."

Nearby nord lord: "I cant recall his name." <--- 68 relations

king: "AH! when did this paper get here? I forgot who this person is."

Nearby lord: "We must have been getting ready to declare war!"

King: "Good thinking! TOO WAAAARRRR"

The kingdom of nords has declared war on the United Empire

I saw that you mentioned you had problems w/ mamelukes as rhodoks?

Have you tried a mass of all sergeants bunched up on a hill or between trees?  That always does the trick for me.  It's the sharpshooters that get countered hard by the mamelukes.

The other thing that smashes up mamelukes pretty bad is, naturally, super-heavy cavalry companions sent to just rush in and harass the mamelukes before they charge.  Give 'em chargers/heavy chargers, military picks/ military hammers, and later when they have the strength, morningstars.  You will typically have to lead your cavalry companions way to the far left before you tell them to charge in order to sick them on the mamelukes instead of the infantry/ranged sarranid units.

There's other dirty tricks you can use to break any cavalry charge as well like hiring cheap khergits or caravan guards... even sword sisters to simply dismount in front of your infantry stack.  Horses break momentum like nothing else, after all.

I didnt always have to time to get to a hill and in siege battles they are just as regardable as every other troop. Also, its incredibly unrealistic how the crossbow is represented in this game, it was a knights bane.
After I started using a mixed swadian/nord/rhodok army I did a lot better, just now used it against some mamlukes with success.

When you rebelled did you keep any fiefs? I have never seen faciton relation hits from refusing to be a lord...

Join a faction to reset relations. You can still do touneys/hunt bandits as a vassal. Just ignore all marshal requests.

To boost relations. Go around looking for badits praying on villagers/caravans of a faction you want to improve with and save them in a fight. With no wars thats about your only option.

The best relationship booster I've found is rescuing captive lords. Keep an eye out for messages about lords of the faction you care to raise your standing with being captured, then find out where they are being held and rescue them.

My character had a similar thing happen with the Vaegirs, but since the majority of the lords liked him when he renounced Yaroglek they all started following one after another and more than half the Vaegir castles were instantly in his new kingdom. Apparently old King Yaroglek had pissed off more than just the player character.

I didnt really rebel. I simply renounced my oath to Graveth and he accepted my wish (although I STILL remain lord of Ruldi. Perhaps until someone else is assigned the fief.)
And I really wished I wouldnt have to take a vassalship and then renounce it because that way Id get a -20 relations with a king, but it seems like the only way.
