Increase relationship with Companion?

Has anyone figured out how to improve the relationship with the companions? I have no Idea, I can't give them a gift nor helping some people to improve it.

Ok it looks like I managed it to improve it with one companion... but I think you're right, it is not fully implented right now.
I joined the Battanians and followed an army that forced me to help raiding a village, a merciful Companion tell me that this is awful bla bla.
I answered her that shes right and I will not doing that again... then I got +11 relations to her.
