Incorrect Total Battle Numbers

I've tried searching but can't find a post about this problem (just keep coming across 'battle sizer' stuff).

My problem is that when I join a battle, instead of it counting all the allies I have, it comes up with a number considerably lower. From the 700+ I can see in the 'world' view to 300+ when about to start fighting (against over 900, hence my worry).

Don't know if it's relevant but I'd gone to collect about 6/7 lords to bolster the numbers up, since originally it was only one Nord lord against the 900+ Khergits, so I'm wondering if perhaps the parties of the lords I brought in aren't registering at all...

... All because I want to make sure the Ichamur seige is a success, and the Khergits really don't want us to take it XD

Sorry, evidently didn't make it clear enough. I don't mean the battle where you're actually fighting, but just where you join and it tells you the numbers of allies vs enemies and gives you options to charge, leave, etc. So I'm presuming battle size has nothing to do with it. It must be set to about 50 anyway (don't think I changed it from the default).

Are you joining an already existing fight? If it is not initiated by you- that you didn't engage the enemy party first, you allies won't join the fight. In an already existing battle, they have to walk into it like you.

Yeah, though I'd waited until my allies had joined then I followed them. In the world view it had the Nord numbers in yellow at about 700 but as soon as I join over half of them seem to disappear :S

I don't think so. I certainly didn't notice if they did... Do lords leave in the middle of battles?

I followed immediately after the lords joined so I wouldn't have thought they'd lose 400 men in a couple of seconds... :S

I think he means if they have wounded troops. It will say 700 or so on the map, but if you move your cursor over them, you should see most of the troops like this:

11/28 Nord huscarls
21/38 Nord veterans

etc.

the first number is the number of men fit for battle. The second number is the total, and the difference between is men who have been wounded, not killed in battle already.

On the campaign map it only shows the total, but when you join the battle, it only shows the number fit for battle.

If what you're saying is true, then the Khergits must have talen casualties aswell, theres no way did you take 300+ casualties when the enemy lost none, auto resolve tends to always take casulaties from both sides, unless the odds are ridiculously in ones favour (i.e. 20 to 1)

I suppose it's possible the Nords had casualties before I brought them in, and perhaps the first lord's party was almost defeated, but I wouldn't have thought there would be that many. Not given I'd collected these lords from around nearby castles and I find it hard to believe they were all badly wounded...

The Khergits didn't seem to have much in the way of a casualties (maybe a few but less than 100 given the numbers)...

I don't know. It's weird... But I replayed that bit and this time I brought the lords in before all the Khergits joined the one battle. They scattered, so I've now obliterated them party by party.

Thanks for all the replies though!
