In praise of savescumming

[Something unusual]

I savescum now. Used to play on realistic but I have too little time to do so now and I must say, there's much more freedom to do what you want if you savescum.

Sacrificing a few troops to make your escape becomes something you actually do once in a while.

Usually, you can send in your soldiers to inflict some damage, then quit the fight and simply leave the battle.

I once had to sacrifice over 200 soldiers because I was wounded and could only send my troops without me

Yeah it's important to make sure you're not wounded to the point that you can't appear in battle.

Ansen the rightful king of Pendor, you mean? The way I see it, a guy who can perform lifesaving surgery on thousands while taking part in a battle is gonna make a better ruler than some schmuck who's good at hitting people with sharp objects.

But I do perform lifesaving surgery on thousands while taking part in a battle. I can even do it while knocked out from a crossbow bolt to the face.

After decades of bugs in games and just doing stupid things like falling off a ledge and getting stuck, I don't know if I'll ever grow up and not have at least one backup save. If I were to do so, PoP seems like a good place to start.

I'm guessing Dark Souls will forever collect dust, but I digress.

I can almost guarantee I wouldn't win the game but it would definitely add a whole new layer of fun. I probably wouldn't make enemies of the Red Brotherhood off the bat either.

I didn't know you could get executed though. hmmm

Nice write up...I like creative/entertaining AARs (or minis) and haven't read many on PoP.
