I tend to stick to my games. Maybe that's because it takes so long to train your companions.

However - yes, over a game year, it is

Oh, and you seriously ****ed up your poll, didn't you?

I actually don't start over unless I switch/update mods (So I have no choice but to restart) or haven't played in a very long time (so I need to start slow again).

I was surprised to find that my present game had run over 700 days.

The U.S. and Commanches are the only two big factions left, and share the available territory peacefully.  Most of the Outlaw and Lawman factions were killed dead, but the Cottonwoods keep popping up.  They just won't give it up.  I own one fort and a couple of villages.  I passed on the rest to the U.S.

I've also cut way back on my forces and gone back to traveling light with my 15 man band.  Its nice to be able to run down all those looters, deserters, and renegades that were to fast to catch up with before.  Its more profitable too.

I'll probably not start over again until an updated version is released.

Kudos on a great mod!

Do you know the prosperity rating on your villages and a guesstimate on their weekly taxes?

it is actually better to own a town instead, you get a ton more money, as well as more opportunity for glory and honor (people are more likely to attack you)

I rarely play longer than a week lately...

Just long enough to get myself a nice revolver

I dont even join a faction and start taking places until my companions are trained to at least lvl 14, which is around day 70
If I didnt give in to temptation and constantly use CRTL-T (show-map) it would take longer

I don't actually know what the prosperity rating of my villages are, but the weekly taxes are somewhat disappointing.  I'm sure owning a town pays much better, as it does in native, or Europe1200, but the U.S. Government never saw fit to grant one too me, even though I was directly responsible for the capture of some.  The saloons and castles are usually huge money sinks as you try to provide garrisons for them.  I been granted more of them from time to time, but found them too expensive to support adequately.

As I said, once the major enemy faction forces were eliminated I settled down to desperado/renegade/deserter hunting with a small band, which is very profitable and enjoyable.  I pull larger enemy bands to my castle where I can draw off the garrison to bushwhack  them as needed.  Its seems to be a much better arrangement than chasing around at the head of a large force (and paying the large payroll).

I play a month each game. Than i accept that the factions really aren't going to fight each other...In a single fight.....ever...

I have a fairly short attention span, so i end up playing maybe...eh, a month, 45-60 days at the most.  I keep getting bored, and deciding to "try something new".

Longest ever I think was 180 days in Native....that got old fast, oh man.

the way to get a town is to become a vassal, capture several forts and one or two towns but don't ask for them, then once your faction and king really like you, take a town and request it be given to you.
