Recruit
Hey guys,

I'll give a rundown of the situation and include TL;DR.

So i started as a mercenary for Vladia, i did a big part of the bannerlord quest and decided to break free from being a mercenary after reaching Tier 3 clan.
This however had some negative implications for my relationship with Derthert, going to -20 with him and most of the lords and nobles from Vladia.

After trying to take a castle on my own i decided i need to be a vassal in order to get one, when i besiege a castle a big party or army comes over to uneven my odds of taking it.

I want to become a vassal for Vladia but no matter how much money or gifts i give Derthert i don't seem to be able to improve relations with him. I need to be at -10 relations at least to be able to do mercenary work for him or to become a vassal.
Also i can't do the quests for lord since they do not trust me.
I am 10 relation short of being able to fight for them which is the only way i know can improve relations.

Is my only option to side with another faction or is there a way to improve relations with Derthert?

Thanks!

TL;DR - How to improve lord relations?

Save up influence and spend it on him in the factions>clans tab, you only get 1 point per 50 influence though.
You can also do their quests once you are at 0 relation by speaking to them.

You can play games with their wifes 1ste gives 1 renown, 2nd 1 relations, 3nd 2 relations but you gotta win those

I am my own clan, i dont believe get any influence with them.
I am not a kingdom yet since i don't own a settlement/castle.

Derthert is at like -37 with me... I guess this is because I have used influence to grab 3 castles (two of which were the same castle on a war front; first time I immediately lost it to a counterattack siege, took it back myself and used influence to assign it to myself again, then lost it again and the war ended immediately afterwards, and the 3rd one was a different castle and the enemy had a war camp set up to siege but the war ended thank god). I imagine if he was able to kick me from the kingdom he would have.

A couple of the other lords are similarly not fond of me. I would love to get some relationship back.

Yeah same, an overview of the political standings would be nice too, like in total war series.

I feel like there is a lot of potential here.

You should be able to send out riders to give messages instead of going everywhere yourself.
Paying factions or talking them into declaring war vs other factions
Improving relations with factions by declaring war on their enemies
Declaring war in general (by yourself)

Some of these might already be in the game but i can't find them

There are a lots off things that must be adjusted / added to the relations system. For example it does not improve when you save a lord from a losing battle as it was in Warband or when you take a town / fortress.

And for adjustments : in my main game my clan was fighting for Sturgia and as soon as the town of lord Olaf is under siege he switches sides moments before my army was ready to break the siege. So now 1 city and 2 fortresses are to the enemy side + one of the larger clans we had.

So naturally, as soon as i catch Olaf i take the traitors head, but surprise no congratulations from my fellow lords, instead all of them are angry at me and i mean very angry (relations -100 with all lords of Sturgia, we are enemies no). Olaf still was there dear friend, he didn't get any personality for switching sides.:xf-mad:

There is also problem with relations when you are The Ruler. When you decide who will get conquered fortress or town, relations will descend, but never raised with lord who taking new fief.
