When i Export a character it says successful, but when i got to import him it says not found. am i doing something wrong or missing a step?
thanks in advance.

Just a random succession of sentences:
You can only export and import you own character.
The exported character will create a .txt file with his/her name
When you want to import a character, you have to name the character that will be overwritten by the import, that is the active one, have to be named like the .txt you want to import it named.

Other than that...
This is what the "guide" says:
This folder holds character definition files exported and imported from the game.

To export a character:
Go to the character Window and click on statistics button, then select "export character"

To import a character:
Give your character the same name as the character you want to import.
Go to the character Window and click on statistics button, then select "import character"

P.S.: finished my term paper half an hour ago. It's 5 in the morning right now and I haven't slept yet. And the real cool part is: in about 30 minutes I'll be on my way to the university...
The joys of pulling an all-nighter

Say you export "IAmIronMan". it'll make a "IAmIronMan.txt" file in the charexport folder... then If you want to import said character to another game, you need to change the name of the character to IAmIronMan, then hit import (in case you didn't get that from Wellenbrechers post)

Also to Wellenbrecher: Good luck at the university. Hope you pass ;P

In your C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\CharExport\ folder do you have a txt file with the name of the exported character?

I added one to try and see if it would import.  the exported fuile does not show up despite saying that it was successful.  It claims the import was successful, yet it does not take on the imported stats.

ITS VERY SIMPLE! Open CharExport folder. Then find thing ''Compability files'' Click it. Then you see your all exported characters. Go to Technical Support , And find ''How to export character on Vista''. Its my topic and i explained all how to do it.
