Do you think that makes it less fun to play prophesy of pendor with import character and it is better to play with a new character?

With higher level, more enemies...

I don't recommend to import chars, it makes you lazy to do "normal" quests.

At least the hideout quests are a nasty little surprise to players who import a high level character.

Found this out. Doing the snakes hideout this way leads to spawning like 20 or 30 of them. Unpleasant to say the least.

For a first playthrough, you would definitely be doing yourself a disservice by importing a character. PoP's unforgiving early game is best experienced as a weak little baby because it makes the rest of the game so much more rewarding for having survived to see it.

I use it to get a stronger start when I want a faster game.  For instance, it's day 120, I already have enough RtR and well trained troops to become an independent in my current game.  Not to mention the money.  I play with a new character when I don't want to be lazy.  XD

I'm definitely not against using imports to speed up later playthroughs, but the first time should be with a fresh character or else you're missing a great part of "the experience."

Only import PoP characters into PoP, and in my opinion don't use Elixirs if you used them in your previous play, or else it's cheating since you get the +2 bonus 6 times instead of just 3 times. Most of the time when you start a new game you want a different character build though, so importing won't help you.

Importing from a different mod or Native is a big no, not only because you miss the early experience but also because different skills are important in PoP. An externally imported character build is probably a bad one.

To recover all the harm that imported character may cause to your game, open the import file and nullify all stats/skills/proficiensies. Also set gold to -10 for the great justice. This way you will be guaranteed to have an interesting and challenging start.

addidtional difficulty! yay! good idea to reset yourself to 0 at start, pop hardcore challenge, i like it

We decided not to do it. For a long while at least.

It depends on the skills, stats and money of the imported character. If you import a vl 2 char the fun will be more or less the same

I've heard around that imported characters have problems during early game because of level scaling, and it does ruin the overall experience somewhat. It is heavily advised to play through Prophesy of Pendor through first normally before trying any imports.

However, if you are experimental and want to try importing a character, try completing PoP normally first. Then, take the character used for that file, export it, and reset the exp to 0. Then, import that character into a new game, essentially creating a NewGame+! I personally enjoy this feature, has benefits of all my stats, skills, profs, and money from my previous game without the problem of level scaling! Of course, companions and soldiers don't follow the imported character, so they have to be done normally.

Importing's a nice feature for tackling two problems:

1) non-save compatibility between versions
2) the early game grind

That being said, I agree with everyone who advises to play through the game first.  You haven't truly experienced Pendor until you're a weakling in a t-shirt who trembles in fear of even the lowliest bandit.

To me this is a major cheat, you practically double your character's Attributes and Skills potential.

Agreed.

Not really. Progression after level 40 is so slow you won´t make many levels anymore.
And that takes a lot of fun out of your gaming experience.

What you two mean is editing your character so you start with all the stats and skills of a level 40 character but are still level1. That was doubling and is lame.

So yes, imported characters are harmful to the game fun.
