Knight at Arms
I am not playing right now but do they do an aoe shot? I remember seeing a big cloud of smoke was just curious as it seems to.

I believe they do as I believe I have seen them block a massive hole in a neatly-ordered L.T. Formation. It could just be that I had 2 of the cannoneers, or because of AOE.

Nice thats very good! My problem with imperials right now is when waves of infantry get close up to me, my casualty ratio (usually like 4 on my side to 40 on theirs) rockets up in like 30 seconds to about 30...

Yes, Canoneers deal AOE damage. You are actually getting infantry close to you? I mean, no horseman? If those infantry are still in formation, I would suggest that you tell your guys to shoulder their guns and move with the formation till you are on a hill, or till you are far enough to get another shot at them. A distraction of cavalry (dragoons/uhlans) works wonders to distract them infantrees when you need to regroup your Imperial Gunners. Though be sure to keep your Cavalry at the start/as far away from the battle as possible. And do not let them 'Distract' a Swadian formation. If it's the Radian Brigade infantry you're fighting... Well, might as well give up. You need cannons for that, cannons I say!

Meh.

Edit: Oh damn it! This mod is awesome. So awesome in fact that I had to delete Mount&Blade and remove the installation files. I am sure to fail my finals if I continue playing this.

With cannoneers, though, your casualties rocket up to 30 before they ever get to you.

AOE + friendly fire = Massive fail

I always have at least roundabout 5% of my army being cannoneer. One massive hit can really hurt the opponent. And I only remember twice being shot down myself by my own cannoneers. The second time a few men of my infantry were also killed.

i remember besieging a imperial town with cannoneers, didn't end up so good lol. My troops were utterly destroyed because one of the cannoneers got a lucky shot and hit the center of my formation , caused huge casualties and my character on last 10 hp.

Personally i suggest to go in and flank and kill the cannoneers first with other cavalry or else run to a hill and wait for a good time to strike.

Canonneers require quick cavalry to be defeated in open battles. Flank the main body of the army, get your character in the thick of it and pick them off. Sadly, the Imperial State AI is one of the worst I've seen: get all your soldiers in a line and wait, or if in superior numbers, rush them and get slaughtered. Oh, and use the edge of the map trick. Bastards ...

I love my cannoneers, and I hate them. They will kill up to 15 enemies sometimes. (there were so many kills it could not list them all on the left at one time)
Then there are times when they kill 2-5 of MY units, and that is pretty often.

they must, because 1 time i saw a canoneer kill 3 horses and 2 guys (who were riding two of the horses) with 1 shot, and he was my only canoneer.

They are the only weapon the IS has against an army of the LT.
Those knights with their heavy shields are unstoppable - until a cannon fall right into their tight formation.

No, I've seen the Radiants advance slow and carefully, even standing still like 10 meters from my front for a few seconds (before rushing in, killing everything).

But I've also seen the loose cluster charges you mentioned.

I think it's the standard bearer that makes them group together.

Anywa, you can deal with them. At first, I was lost. Radiants smashed my Imperial armies without difficulties, the horror. But then I started positioning my troops on steep terrain, packed them really tight together and added cannoneers.
It works, as long as the Radiants aren't larger in numbers. Whenever they reach your front in significant numbers, it's game over.
