Immersive Things that i think would be good for the game

Users who are viewing this thread

First of all I have a kinda Love/Hate Relationship with Bannerlord at the moment, i love it for obvious reasons, i hate it for things like the overhauled AI that i can't see etc.
But that is not the reason why you clicked on this Thread so here we go

-Warscreams and more sound feedback in general
-Battania&Sturgia Infantry screams while charging and fighting
-Empire Units should keep quiet and disciplined (And please give Legionaries Tower Shields)
-Aserai&Khuzait should make this Islamic/Arab War scream i can't give a better example than "lululululu" i hope you know what i mean
-Vlandian lower Tier Infantry screams, higher Tier units keep quiet
In general the fights are a bit too quiet for my taste

-Banner Bearers (The game is called BANNERlord we absolutely need them and i saw screenshots from a few years back) in your Army i heard people said they are already somewhat in the game, but not really implemented since no one would use them anyways since they would have to be a trash tier Unit. So my kind of Idea would to introduce them as a Supporting Unit, maybe the first in any M&B Game yet
-Banner Bearers boost up the Morale of nearby Units, but also reduce them when they die, they only have 1Hand Sword/Axe/Mace as a weapon
-When you have Banner Bearers in your Army, you have a Chance to gain extra Relationships the first time you talk to other Lords because they respect you more
-When you have Banner Bearers in your Army the chance that the enemy forfeits before a fight because they are scared

-Workshop Prices should vary from City to City depending how much prosperity the city has.

-Cities, make the townspeople walk around a bit please, they just stand there doing nothing at all, that feels so weird

-Hideouts should absolutely be conquerable, you never really feel like a true Bandit/Outlaw in M&B and i was hoping Bannerlord would be different.
-Garrison in your Hideout increases the Chance to be spotted, the more Units you have to defend it the more likely the AI finds it
-Be able to recruit Looters that then can be upgraded into different Outlaw Units
-Introduce Outlaw Lords, i was hoping they would be a thing after I saw a namend Outlaw in the Tutorial just to realize the moment the Game starts every Bandit Leader is just called that... a Bandit leader and all they do is chill in their Hideout 24/7

-Weather Effects they don't even necessarily need to have any impact on the Battlefield but... it's 2020, why is there never any rain? I was hoping to be able to play a Siege while it rains at Night, i really thougt that would be a thing especially after i saw the Gamescom Siege gameplay trailer from 2016 and there were all those Muddy Puddles

-Messengers that carry out Messenges for other Lords, instead of me having to run to each Lord and talk to them in Person, a messenger could do the trick. I select a bunch of units from my party who then create their own party, run to the Lord that i sent them too with the things i wanted to say. I.E. when i am at war with a faction and want to make a peace treaty, i should not have to do that in person and risk everything.

Those are just my Ideas. Happy about any sort of feedback negative or positive.

They did mention a while ago, maybe back when the gamescom demos were going that they will implement banner bearers but they currently/won't be in the game at launch. Following your point though, if the banner bearer falls and your troops begin to retreat you should be able to pick it up as a last ditch attempt to rally your troops, boosting morale significantly.

I love that Idea! Gives me some sort of Braveheart vibe

I thought it was already in the game?
We saw these banner bearers for years on streams and demos, why did they take this awesome feature out?

Yes please. Especially with Empire units, I don't know how much they wanted this faction to be like a Roman Empire but as a fan of this culture I really miss tower shields and centurion helmets,.

Maybe they could introduce similar mechanics there is with followers. Limit them to 1 for every 20/30 soldiers, make them trash but make that so they do not count in overall party size so then people would actually take them. What I miss are the armors that Swadian Knights use to have where they have your sigil on the tunic.

Good idea but I doubt many PCs would be able to handle it.

I had enough after I had to speak with all the faction leaders in the main storyline quest, at the end I have just enabled cheats and teleported so that would definitely be a good idea. I would also add the option to send one of your companion alongside few soldiers to escort imprisoned lord to your city or castle prison.

I support all of these ideas, particularly the suggestions about the hideouts and weather effects. Weather effects seem like they'd be really easy, ambient benefits for the player -- they don't have to have any sort of downside to them in terms of how AI perform (such as how in the most recent patch, TW removed the nighttime debuffs -- rain or fog don't need to have any sort of effect other than ambiance).

I really agree with this part. In viking conquest the troops would bang their shields with weapons and scream.

Yeah I really hope this gets added. Again we had this in Viking Conquest where some units could be upgraded into standard bearers. Even better in VC we had horn blowers which added a really great feel to the battle.

Just more "Battle Atmosphere" would be nice, for me the Battles are 50% of the game, and they absolutely nailed the Siege feeling, but open field battles still feel extremely lackluster, the AI will just charge at you in 90% of the battles and i don't think an AI upgrade will happen ever, but atleast make that clash a bit more intense, more atmospheric.
Standard Bearers, Drummers, Shieldbashes, give Infantry the Ability to kick, Warscreams, Rain... goooooood lord it looks so fantastic in my Head, and please don't get me wrong Taleworlds you did a good job and i am infinitely grateful for this Game, but there are so many things that would have made this a million times better.

And one question i have is, why did you guys delete the Gate Break animation? When a Gate gets destroyed the Gate just "explodes" instead of getting rammed open. I saw in a few youtube videos that that animation was there at some point.

Have you heard of Mongolian throat singing?

They aren't Mongolian though. They are based off Turkic/Oghuz tribes that were driven toward the Byzantines (aka Empire) and partially settled around them, largely because other tribes like the Mongols drove them westward. The name generator for Khuzait generates generic Turkic-sounding names and there's more than a handful that are even based off the very few historical khans from the Pechenegs and such that are recorded in history. It's worth noting that the Cumans in particular were commonly referred to as the 'blond ones' because so many of them had blond hair.

I do agree though that there need to be voices that represent the Khuzait better. Currently we have voice 1 as a heavy metal singer at his first LARP and 2 and 3 are Gaelic accents doing an impression of Braveheart.

Just in case yall haven't seen it yet, there is snow fall. I've had at least one battle with snow fall so far, up in Sturgian territory. It was great. Early morning, low light, with a very light fog and snow coming down in thick clumps, all while fighting at the edge of a forest. Doesn't get more ambient than that.
