I'm lost and need help

Alright, I'm sure you already had enough of topics regarding RGL errors and what not. But I wasn't able to find a answer to my situation in particular. Now let me try to explain, the game was running fine when I first installed it. I got the usual 'error on creating shaders". So I replaced the sound.txt with the sound in the Gameplay mod (i'm running Expanded). Everything was great until about today. I'm around 220-250 in-game days, I am getting "error on creating shaders" left and right. When I try to siege, whenever I finish a battle, most of the time it is whenever I try to get out of a menu back to the world map. I downloaded so many sound.txt files. But my question is why now? I ran the mod fine for about ~200 in-game days or so. Now the game crashes every 5-10 minutes.

Thanks for your time,
Andrew

I forgot to mention, I'm also getting texture errors now! Out of nowhere! I don't understand.

I'm going to reinstall and start from there. I'll let you guys know If the problem still occurs

I can understand that, since these crashes have only started recently. That is all I can come up with as well. Unless the more play time you get in the game the more demanding it gets?

So after the reinstall I played for a little bit and it doesn't crash as often. I still get the 'error on creating shaders' every now and then but i still get some good playing time in it. Atleast i can it bare it for now.  Played a good chunk tonight, didn't crash when entering sieges, that was a first. It looked good. Hopefully It'll be the same for now on

You should be able to run the game more stable than that though.  Mind posting one of your rgl_log.txt files?  It might be you do not have enough RAM for expanded.  Or maybe using the memory fix discussed in the FAQ sticky might help.

I would gladly do so if I knew how.

Just copy and paste the rgl_log.txt file found in your main warband directory into *spoiler* */spoiler* tags with []'s instead of **'s.  That tells us a fair bit about the computer you're using and can help us better assist in knowing what to do.

Definetely a hardware issue.
-- RAM: Available physical RAM: 1023MB/1024MB
ERROR: Error on creating shaders: Out of video memory!

Im not entirely sure why you were able to run it so long, but there isnt much we can do. There was a warband memory cleaner which might have helped you, but it was on megauploads and well... FBI didnt like them.

A different tool which might potentially help you is the gamebooster 3.0.

I am using gamebooster and advance system care 5 to close any unnecessary programs that are running in the background. It also free's up a lot of ram. What does that mean? is that the available ram on my video card that game depends on?

My game is back to freezing constantly now. When I enter battles, enter taverns. Mostly anytime I get into a menu of some sort there is a big chance the game will crash.

Expanded is not made to run on less than 2GB of RAM (not video ram, but general system memory). In most cases it will take at least 3GB of RAM to work.

No it recognizes your graphics card here:

-- GPU:
- D3D9 Adapter: 0 / Driver: aticfx32.dll / Description: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
- Texture Memory: 750 ( Available Texture Memory: 734 )

But it seems warband doesnt recognize more than 1GB of your 8GB of RAM. Which is mighty strange. Might be worth dropping a question in the tech support of the forum.

See I have 8GB RAM here:

I checked with CFF explorer to see if Warband.exe uses more than 2GB and it is checked. So I don't know why it's not using it

I completely believe you mate, but all i can work with is the rgl log and its telling me that the game isnt recognizing more than 1GB of your 8. As for the reasons - i would suggest asking in the tech area of the forum. I dont know thaaaat much about computers.

I took your advice and posted on the tech forum. It seems to be that Warband is a 32 bit application while i'm running it on a 64 bit system. So it doesn't even go past 2GB.

But then it should at least use 2GB.

Also - it recognizes all of my 4GB of Ram.

Barely, when I launch floris expanded and move in to help a ally deal with a enemy, as soon as i hit "Take the Field" warband goes up to ~1.9GB and that's when it crashes.

Wow how I would like to see that on my rgl_log.

Something is still not right with that value of 1GB of ram available if your computer has more.

Mine has 6GB for reference.  I hadn't noticed until now it was hitting a wall at 4GB, but it definitely allows for more than 2GB on a 64 bit system.

Ninja'd by Duh...again
