I'm looking for a nice RTS

I'm looking for a nice RTS that goes from the Stone Age to nowadays, I was thinking of Rise of Nations or Age of Empires III... Any thoughts?

Age III doesn't go from ancient to now, it's only musket era unfortunately.

But you could use Age I, II, and III's editors to create an psuedo-time spanning game by emulating your empire from the previous game on the next.

Empire Earth.

That goes from the age of sticks and stones, all the way to a futuristic setting (many ages in between). If you don't fancy the last one, you can always limit the maximum age in the battle customization.

I severely doubt it's even on Steam.

Empire Earth 2 is the best one.

You can get 1 and 2 from GoG, I think.

I don't really care about graphics... I enjoy Age of Empires I just as much as any other game, no matter how good the graphics are.
And do I seem to be avoiding it? I was just wondering whether there were any other games other than Empire Earth and Rise of Natons.

I played Empire Earth II and Rise of Nations, and from my experience Rise of Nations is closer to Age of Empires whereas Empire Earth is closer to civilization or maybe Age of Mythology. But all of this was a long time ago so I could be totally wrong

Empire Earth 1 is godsend. 2 is okay, but probably more expensive for not much added. 1, however (with the expansion) is pretty much my favorite RTS of all time.

Ya'll are forgetting about EE3, the best of them all. It had such an extensive tech tree and so many ages compared to the other two!
