It sounds like you are doing it correctly. Make sure you have put them in the correct folder... that it is in your Program Files directory (or I suppose where ever you installed Warband) and not under the User folder for settings or something funky.

What is the directory you've been installing to?

Directory = folder.

This is the second time people have had problems with me using that word...is it too DOS/Win 3.1?

Okay, that looks fine.
When you go into that ...warband/modules/ folder from "My Computer", are there multiple folders within? One should be named "Native" but then there should be other folders with the name of your mods, if everything installed correctly.

Then I can't figure what you've done wrong. ...usually by this point someone has said "oops, put it in the wrong place". Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

The weirdest thing is that when I used the self installers a popup comes up and saying "the mod requires version 1.134 and you have mount and blade warband version (unknown) and if you continue the mod might not work". I checked what version of the game I have in the launch menu and it says version 1.134.

It took a while to find someone else with the same problem as me. Nobody else seems to have this.

When I install a module, ANY module, it doesn't show up in the dropdown menu from the game's launcher. I triple checked the directory and it IS right - and my game is updated to the latest version, as it's the Steam version and I got it recently.

Just to check copy your native module and paste there with different name. See if it appears in dropdown menu.

Yes! That works! So then it would seem I've not been properly installing the modules, somehow... I'll investigate this more deeply if you don't have a suggestion for me from here. Thanks!

Exactly as I thought.

So if you are installing mods copy your native module and rename it. Then install the new mod over this new module. Click yes if it asks to overwrite the existing files.

That makes sense. A little bit space hogging maybe, but I've got a large enough drive. Thanks very much!

I know this is what happened to me a few times.  For the folder for the mod once it's been extracted, double-click it.  A lot of mods once extracted have ANOTHER folder with the mod inside.  Just put the interior folder into modules instead.
