IL-2 - Et Cetera

I love Il-2: 1946.

Still one of the best WWII Combat Flight Simulators. Singleplayer is fun and there are some amazing custom campaigns(see Mission4Today for some examples), but I only play offline to practice gunnery or evasive maneuvers.

Though I mostly fly Luftwaffe planes and sometimes American kites(P-38/39). I hate every Russian plane, loathe the Spitfire(it is a lovely plane but too easy to fly ) and mostly do my best to get into trouble online for boom and zooming with at least 2K of altitude advantage.

Also, I love the Fw190s and the 110s(if you ever see a 110 above 4K without bombs trying to kill late war planes it is probably me...).

Needs better multiplayer and better support in general, Steam is still and once again behind on a few patches ಠ_ಠ

Not that I can fly well enough to play multiplayer yet anyway.

You can patch the Steam version by hand though. Worked like a charm for me.
More annoying is that the Steam version is lacking certain folders that the game can't create itself... >.>

However, I couldn't get mods to work with Steam. So I now own it from GoG as well

Yes!
My motor got fragged over Smolensk, managed to limp behind friendly lines but then had to crash land. I did it! Sure, the landing gear broke, the screw is scrap and I came down way too fast and steep, but I lived. And since there was no airfield close by, I doubt it could've gone much better than this.

Now I feel motivated to learn actual landing and starting. Tried some starting before, works just fine even though everything seems to pull to the left quite a bit. Probably my flight stick acting up.

It was pretty damn even. Russia and all that.
Also I felt more comfortable with more space and stuff between me and the ground

Steam is running the latest official patch. The newer patches are made by a third party group whom Maddox gave the development tools, AFAIK.

That's your good buddy torque, actually. Same reason why most helicopers have two rotors.

Most helicopters? I can't think of any that were ever put into production that had 1.

That makes sense. Now I feel stupid.

Either you were lucky or those things can stand a **** ton of punishment
Do you sue an external program to take screenshots?
