If you could change ONE thing about Warband what would it be?

That's right, Name ONE THING that you would change about WB if you could. It can be anything from game mechanics to simple artwork, I'm just bored and a little curious...Please humor me :smile:


If I could change one thing about WB it would be that there is a class cap implemented, meaning in ratio to how many people are on a team there can only be a certain number of people per class. For example, Say theres 10 people on the nords, only 3 can be archers or something.

But it's been at least a week and a half now *grumble*

Edit...4?: Epic phail, math was wrong so I said 7 days...Then I corrected it by saying 9 days, IN A QUOTE IN THE NEXT POST. Had to remove and make this edit.
 
I am torn between two things:
1) adding assassination mode

2) adding more assist/teamwork related stats (like damage dealt and etc)

Totally this. It would be imo more tactical and fun to actually value your teams archers and cavalry, and at the same time avoid having to provide 'hard counters' to fight teams of archers ('camping' and...many javelins + shields for every infantryman) or against cavalry (pikes that suck in melee and aren't much fun to use, ...throwing weapons... and horses rearing instead of bumping footmen)

I think this could be done without a class cap, using revised gold and item prices. Maybe the devs believe its better to allow everyone to play the class they want every round, but its becoming clear that comes with a price.

Otherwise I'd just like to see controlled melee combat with nice depth, and it's getting better with each patch.
 
Dismounting people should be worth something on your score. Also possibly scoring based on damage dealt.

I'd also like to see some entirely indoor maps. Imagine storming through a full castle interior in something like siege mode.
 
I'm putting two just because I can.

1) More game modes like King of the hill, Protect the king, etc

2) Little achievment's like on (and I dont mean to sound like a ****head) Halo, It adds abit more fun and if your **** like me you sorta feel decent getting a little medal haha

These two, very good ideas! +

1) Fix **** bugs! One that Really annoys me is when you're hit byt meele or ranged weapon, and the hit knocks you back to a path from 1 cm to 90 cm lower than were you stood, and you somehow get smashed into the ground. It often kills you, but if it doesn't then it happens that you can't use weapons like crossbows (xbows) and bows anymore (can't fire them).

2) Less cav somehow, maybe some maps without the possebillity of playing cav (like indoor maps  :wink:)! That would be awesome!
 
More encouragement for melee combat in other game modes. Now you only get a decent portion of it in deathmatch and duel servers, in battle melee is either non-existent or a whole gang trying to beat up a player's back.
 
I would probably change to where you can't jump off a 30 foot wall and not be damaged, or knocked down at least.

Pisses me off and it's unrealistic when someone in full armor and a goddamn warhammer does a front flip off a big ass wall land on both feet, and maul down an entire team from behind, rofl.

I'd prefer that the attack directions be in an 'X' shape, with a central option for thrusting. The current directions are rather limited and overly abstracted, and there's minimal free 'blade-to-blade' interaction.

Kicks still aren't a very good means for distance control, and players often can't do anything except flail wildly when another guy gets in their face. While in theory you can introduce them to knuckle, gauntlet, crossguard or fist if they get that close, in Warband all you can do is die.

In light of Night Ninja's comment and my playing experience tonight:

While the things I mentioned earlier are important to me, the one thing I could change is to have proper "infighting". Right now, the outfighting is pretty good (but could still use improvement). But once you get in close range of the opponent, it reduces to something similar to a Counterstrike knife fight. Free "blade-to-blade" interaction would be awesome if implemented properly. I think I'm going to make a topic about infighting.
 
add a dungeon/maze style maps with upstairs and down stairs and interesting fighting points
