If TW is making a space game, will you buy it?

Would you buy TaleWorld's space game?

It seems likely that TaleWorlds is working on something new, which might be a space game.

Bannerlord may continue to get updates, but most of the force is probably working on something new.

If it turns out to be a space game, will you make a purchase?

If it's like Bannerlord but in space, then maybe. The idea of a game where you can conquer planets mount and blade style is something I've thought of before.

Though, it's a bit hard to get excited about a game that only exists in rumors, being made by a studio that seems content to just ignore us. I'd rather see them actually say something before anything else.

Oh, cool. Will check it out.

Star Wars Bear Force ll mod, try it if you never played them
Played that mod back in the day. Was nice.

Which is why I think a mount and blade type space game might work pretty great!

The main source of worry for me is how they're going to tackle a whole different game design, given their failure to meaningfully improve on the proven formula that was Warband. It's like they've messed up the icing on a good cake that was handed to them, now they're trying their hand at making pizza on their own. Maybe they have better ideas on how to make a good pizza but I doubt it. Regardless, I hope that they end up being successful.

If they go the RPG route but dont have space combat its going to disappoint the vast majority of people who hear about it. They're competing with games like Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous. Just trying to replicate bannerlord in space is going to be a massive flop.
A space mount and blade would not compete with those games any more than Starfield competes with Stellaris. The only link they have is that they both take place in outer space.

I'm envisioning it more as Stellaris if it focused on the planetary invasion aspect of the game as opposed to the focus on colonisation, planet management and galaxy wide warfare.

Yeah, I hope the game has space combat, but it probably will. If it is a space game they're making, of course.

I'm just assuming it'll be similar to the Mount and Blade formula because this is the only thing they're known for. The name "Bannerlord" carries far more brand recognition than "Taleworlds", so if they make something totally different, it'll be like entering the market from scratch.

I don't think either the Stellaris or Starfield routes are good decisions anyway. There are tons of varied space strategy games, mostly with highly simplified combat, and without the melee combat and battles MnB is unremarkable. And seeing as we haven't heard anything about this project in years, I assume it's either dead in the water internally or it was just a minor long term project to begin with.

I agree. I wasn't suggesting it would be anything like Stellaris, but there are few games you could compare a mount and blade game to. I'm imagining the continent being replaced by either a star system or a small cluster of star systems, and fiefs being replaced by complete planets or planets having multiple strongholds. A very dumbed down version of Stellaris, but with a focus on planetary invasions and outer space combat, essentially.

My initial point was more that neither Star Citizen nor Elite Dangerous would compete with such a game. Not only are both MMOs but they are FPS games first and not Strategy games, those are very different genres.

Looks crap, they would've been better off making another paid M&B mod (not bannerlord lol)
Just like Flying Squirrel really, Battle Cry was fun while people played it but their new WW1 game is terrible
