If I could make one wish, I would wish to get rid of the "main questline"

Couldn't say how much I hate about the "main questline". It's uninteresting, grindy and unrelevant. What makes things worse is that they force you to progress the main questline to create your own kingdom.

Recently however what really puts me on edge is that after updated to 1.10 I have this bug that my game crushes everytime I exit a bandit hideout. This means there's no way I can progress the main questline, or to create my own kingdom altogether. Why even do they do this? That's just so annoying!

The thing is - we play bannerlord to look for a mount and blade experience: sandboxing, high degree of freedom. Why even bother to spend your valuable time and resources to develop a "main questline"? If I wanted a questline I would go play Kingdom Come Deliverance!

They can remove it with mods .

The initial line is fine. You have to allow time for them to complete it

I'm following the mod "just let me play". Unfortunately the author stopped updating a few days ago and it definitely doesn't work on version 1.1

They should change it so it's more combat-focused. Have it so you have to defeat 10 armies instead of speaking to 10 lords. This is a combat game so make the main quest about combat.

It is interesting to know the back story. You have war and combat everywhere. Wait a little longer and you will have to overthrow the empire or the kingdoms.

I disagree. Everything else about this game is already combat focused. Something civil-focused would be great.

Sadly, though, the MQ is just about running around finding certain lords to have certain conversations. It's rather tedious.

I'm mostly annoyed that you can't have all the conversations. I was actually becoming interested in their stories, but when I talked to the tenth lord, I was lo longer allowed to speak about this subject with the remaining ones.

Shame. There's not much lore to go around.

The quests were decent enough, but that quest to talk to 10 specific people was horrible, it can be fixed by adding more potential lords to talk about it.

You can just ignore the main quest, the reason so far that is the only reason to create a player kingdom is because its not fully implemented yet, neither is the main quest line because there is still half or so missing.

Was there any sort of tutorial on sieges? I just kinda remember doing my first siege, looking at the little overhead map placement/preview, and assuming I could choose one of the siege set-ups to remove. Is that the deal with the 'X's?

Can‘t say I‘d be proud of it.. but I played somewhat +120h - without finishing the so called main quest. I was total neglecting it and just didnt give sht about it.
as a side effect I‘m able to get cities without any empire declaring war on me, since I‘m not an empire myself. I‘m enjoying my peace. So do my fellow peasants.

I didn't see the need to finish the main quest in an EA. I'd say save it for full release because a lot things will change between now and then.

It's simply a way to give a minimal background to the Bannerlord kingdoms and empires, but I agree it's a bit poopy to force it. You could still get a contextual background in Warband if you just spoke to people, there was no need to give the player a mandatory quest to obtain a kingdom.

Ok, rephrase to "allow us to create a kingdom anytime"
I don't know why youc an't just create your own kingdom at anytime, and the mainquest just kind of helps guide. I figured that's what it would do, not prevent you from sandboxing. I do agree that's against the spirit of sandboxing.

Funny thing. It was literally just now that i failed the part ‚Meet with Istiana/Arzagos‘.

My thinking is, let everyone form a kingdom if they hit a certain high renown tier (maybe 5?) but the Main Quest can let you form it early (tier 3, as currently). Also, the main quest can give you story fluff about restoring the Empire/destroying the Empire, whereas the sandbox can just let you do whatever you want.

I think that's a good way to make it work for everyone. They still need to fix how tedious it is to go talk to everyone, though.
