Can I report someone if he is using avatar of another well-known forum member?

New guys with avatars borrowed from other annoy me

People can make their avatar anything they want, as long as it isn't offensive. You have no grounds on which to report.

The point is M@ster, we do recognise you for more than your avatar. So if this is the only thing Branko can do to gain notoriety, then he is noted as a jackass.

When I saw the avatar and read the post near it I was like: "Eh, WHAT? Rabid Potatoe posting like that, posting this "

But then I noticed Recruit, other name, no Custom Tag... And was annoyed. It's his personnal avatar (check the Custom Tag). So, eh, that's awful mimicking

If you're talking about nightblade I think his is OK, by  reason of pmdezor or whoever is perm banned.

I was actually quite worried I had taken someone's avatar (seeing as how it wasn't my creation).
I checked Pmdezso's account and he is both banned and was no longer using the avatar.
My Knight shall return someday though.

M@ster's avatar is his own little custom creation. So that annoys me a little, just to flat out clone it.

I recognize people by their avatars. Much akin to a real conversation, recognizing their face is easier than them holding a large placard over their faces with their names on it. Handy for realising the tone that the post should be read in, in a way.

Having the exact same avatar as another person doesn't make too much sense - there's far too many images out there to have to use the very same image as someone else.

And every person is unique. And their avatars are representations of their uniqueness and when they ( members' avatars) are established - they should be unique too

That's why it worries me so much

I dropped my old one for that reason. When I used the Knight noone had yet used him. Give it a couple of months and every Tom, **** and Harry has one.
So even though it was my "identity" I couldn't keep it without  feeling diluted.
I'll return someday with him, until then Cymro will just have to recognise me by wit.

Thing is, newcomers aren't going to check the avatar of everyone on the forum to see it's not been used, and I'm guessing a lot of these images are found somewhere on the net (I don't know if it's true or not for any of the people mentioned so far) which means they are going to be popular with lots of forum users. I do agree though that it's confusing to take another person's avatar.

That is NOT my avatar. I made a point of changing it a little before I put mine up.
It's just too commonly used now, if usage drops (yeah right) then I'll revert.
Until then, no.
