Golden Axe
Recruit
In the Heroes of Might and Magic series you just have one view inside a town, but you can click on each building to see what they provide.
it makes it more interesting than the list screen.
Each town has buildings which produce a certain unit per week, maybe it would be cool to be able to recruit the odd advanced unit here and there every few days or so?
also, the artifacts that you can use in these games are obvioulsy far too fantasy based to apply in M&B (ie a sword that improves your attack or boots that make you faster) but there was one thing that M&B could use, and that is the Morale boosters.
You get medals and such which improve the morale of the army as a whole, and crypts that you can search for treasure but will reduce the group morale, being such a 'dispicable act'
each unit has an individual morale which influences their performance in battle. Things such as mixing unit types should reduce morale (especially having swadians and vaegir in the same group) whereas having an army of just units of one nationality).
I don't know how the morale in M&B actually affects the army's action in battle, in HOMM it is turnbased and morale causes the unit to either freeze and not attack, or to get an extra attack if morale is good. So in M&B we could see something like the guys with low morale retreating or not participating at all while the guys with good morale all come into battle.
HOMM also doesn't let you travel an infinite distance, everyday you have to stop and rest. There are lots of ideas from this game that could be used to improve M&B
