Ideas for a new Multiplayer map.

how about a new variation of the arena . or a small map which would be fun when there are not too many players in a server? most maps are too big when you only have 4-8 poeple on.
 
Small Variation of the Arena? Could work actually. Kept same "eastern" type stands etc with dirt floor? Im just thinking though, even though Arena was suppose to be for a small number of players, by decreasing the number of players it can hold will result in less people in joining. When theres only 3 or 4 players in a server, people turn to look at other servers. :S I can try and make a smaller variation of the arena, which can hold up to 16 comfortably =/

If you can quickly sketch up an idea on paint of what you would want, I could give it a shot :smile:
 
I have only tried multiplayer a couple of times and every time it was a siege battle. I noticed that in
most siege maps there are only a few ways to get inside the castle and when inside, there would
be only maximum of two ways to advance further.

I would like to see a siege map with at least five ways inside and the inside of the castle should
also have lots of corridors and open doors (not a labyrinth). That way all the fighting wouldn't happen
in just one corridor.

Can't explain it better than this...  :roll:

EDIT: Of course the castle shouldn't be too huge, otherwise the battle would just turn into a hide-and-seek.
 
you should try play more multiplayer..i know its frustating at first, but once you get the hang of it its much more rewarding than 1player

I actually figured out a way to make a really nice "Roman " style arena with columns and arches and all.  If you want to undertake the task I can show you the techniques to achieve the look once you add me on Steam :smile:

I will tell you why I don't use the ladders...

Ladders just F*cked up during the making. Errors come up and you just walk straight through the ladders. :sad:

Theres a simple answer to that. Spam. Thats right, you always... ALWAYS get people who spam 2h or polearms in corridors, knowing its the only way in, the attackers barely win plus because theres so much graphical data in a small area, people will get huge latency graphically and connectivity will be slower. This can result in crashes, which is what i try to avoid in my maps. (It is why my streets are open and fairly wide in Swadian Town).

Btw Niko, i've created a Arena type map, its nearly done i guess, nearly ready for alpha/beta, so I will upload it soon. The area inside is approx... 50% smaller, its in the shape of a hectagon, so 8 sides rather than the original arena with its 16 sides. (Something like that).

It will be uploaded on the GK_US_Siege server, hopefully. :razz: I'm not sure about ZHG, they say they don't do custom maps generally because they've had bad experiences with them on rotation. My server unfortunately is not large enough to host a proper siege :S I'd need another 26 slots or so, $26 (approx £13, 16Euros?) on top of my 24 already, no way could I afford £25 a month, not with the summer coming up.
 
Are we speaking of Dungeons/ Tombs etc? I could try that, I have had 1 attempt at it, I tried it and I kept getting lost because I didn't think about my layout. If I were to do this, the progress will be slow, as I have 1 week until my exam period starts  :neutral:
 
Damn you!! XD Yeah I say progress is slow, because I havent actually started... :razz: man I hate this time of year :sad:
