Is there going to be other things to do other than traveling, partying, battling, buying, it would be ace if you added entertainer class, jobs, castles, sieges, veicles???

maybe a real estate vendor?
make your own clan option?

we do get jobs. like delivering stuff and capturing enemy leaders. also, the siege thing has been mentioned several times in the short time i've been on the forums, and everyone seems to think that it would be cool but is unlikly to make it into the game. the other ideas might be good, though. i guess it depends on how they're implemented.

i'm not saying they're good jobs, but we have them. maybe adding more jobs, like "defeat the leader of this bandit clan" and "fight your way through enemy teritory colleccting inteligence reports" would be a nice addition. real estate sounds like it could be cool, or at least entertaining.

"So Mr. Dark Hunter, you say you're looking for a mid-priced starter home. how about this lovely cottage near reyyvadin. You will be close to many good schools and entertainment venues, and there are lots of merchant caravans to raid within a ten-minute ride..."

excactly, maybe adding furniture and making houses customisable
plus you could use your own bed, instead of using the expensive 3 denaar tavern >:U

How about some more random encounter and quests?

You meet wizened old man who challenges you to a fight with your quarterstaff.
Potentially earn + 10 on polearm skills

You meet an old lady who has a task for you.
Earn +2 First aid

etc...

How about some quests that have a definite end...

Clear out this specific den of thieves at this location... and afterwards bandit activity goes down. I mean; quests that have a permanent effect on the campaign map.

X king wants you to travel to the northern lands to find x herb to heal his sick son... clichéd I know but bear with me.

Later quest. You are chosen as our champion. Represent us in battle.

More ideas for quests and encounters?

hey thats sparked me off again, dynamic weathering.

if the snow falls, it blocks up the tunnel, so you have to go around, if there is lightning, it ruins the forest, if there is heavy snow, it destroys the bridge, OR
there is battle going on on the bridge, and to cross, you need to fight.

i don't get it. are you saying that you want lots of impassable terrain and to have random quests at the places that get you across? or what is this about bridges and tunnels?

no, some days it rains, which could fill a river making it harder to get through, or some heavy snow which breaks a bridge or something, then it get rebuilt, i think i saw that on zelda, but it wasnt dynamic or random, you just couldnt pass there until a certain part.

I am in favor of quests that actually effect the way enemies spawn. Such as "Capture forest bandit Leader" then after completing that quest fewer forest bandits spawn until 14 days pass (so they can recruit more people or something).

Weather would be interesting but, all in all I would get annoyed with it more than anything. "Hurray snow! Now I will sleep at the tavern for 42 days so winter passes and I can move at full speed again!" That sounds like anti-fun to me.

And I know for a fact (mostly) that armagan is going to add the whole real estate thing do to the high demand and, uh, easyness of it. So maybe once you have your own Mansion/Castle/hole-in-the-ground-with-a-sheet-over-it, you could start your own faction and make alliances/war with the swadians/vaegirs/bandits or something like that anyway.

In terms of weather... might it be nice to see clouds & shadows, storms etc... floating above the campaign map? Bit like the clouds in Sid Meire's Pirates?

soft snuggly clouds floating across the silk blue sky puffy along thier path of love COUGH COUGh

oh i was typing out loud my mistake

Actually, I think weather would be a nice bonus. Even when it just affected the whole map, and say, randomly changing every day.

As it is, the party can *walk* from the other end of the country to the other in a day, so we really could use slowing down on the travel speed, even otherwise than rain.

So, effects when it rains:
- Map dimmed down
- Travel speed reduced
- Spotting distance reduced

Adding a calendar, to make it snow, is a bit useless, unless the time is accelerated. One month is a very long time - say, three-month winter would be close to eternity.
