I think TW is doing good

When I look to other games EA process, they update their game between like 3-4-5 months gaps.

But TW is trying to update their game maximum like 2 weeks, and we can learn about how is the process going on.

I think some people are mad because they get used to see daily, weekly updates from TW. If TW have done the whole patches between 3 months gaps, you would think like: “Oh damn, there is a lot of things been added we should try it”. Wouldn’t you? Imagine that whole 1.4.0 1.4.1 1.4.2 1.5.0 1.5.1 1.5.2 came in a one patch. That would be huge.

So I support taleworlds with my huge regards, but I also wish they bring mod tools earlier so people can start to working on modding things

in my opinion if every update since the start of closed beta came at once it would still be a small to medium sized update that didn't do much good for the game.

I think many things have been changed since 1.0, I knew it because the last time I play the game was 1.011 updated version. I played today again and I see there is many changed most importantly, I was playing with low graphics with my high tier computer, now it is high graphics with no lags.

While I think they game is good the progress seems quite slow and think the exit out of early access after a year like they planned is not going to happen.
The patch notes still seem to be mostly bug fixes. While I understand most of their developers might be working on new exiting stuff, this new stuff will bring even more bugs.
Feels like either the management at TW is terrible or they don't have enough developers working on the game. Could very well be both, judging by couple years of delays in development and most of the dev team dealing with bugs while frankly this could be a good bit of work for jr. devs to work on.
While many people here seem to think more devs does not equal more progress as they need to get trained up I would say they can get trained up fixing these simple bugs.

Considering where the game was at EA launch, I am also mostly satisfied with TW's progress. I could barely run the game, and all the systems felt broken, but now I can have a pretty good time with it.

That said, if we don't really start to see new feature/mechanic implementation soon now that we're in the 'post-refactor' era then I would be fairly disappointed.

The thing is, early access was planned for 1 year and it's been almost 6 months already. The game is nowhere near finished and I can't see them doing it in 6 months. The 2 options are - early access is gonna get prolongated to still have the shield against the criticism or they will slap 1.0 version on the unfinished game and go from there. Either way Bannerlord is sadly giving me DayZ vibes and just as Dayz we're gonna have to wait for modders to actually fix the game. Let's just hope it won't take another 8 years.

I think the major misunderstanding the player base has is that there was never any intention of making an in depth RPG or feudal political game ala CK2/3. Everyone asking for more content is going to be disappointed until the dlcs or mods come out.

They've made progress for sure, but the issue for some people is the pace of progress. My biggest issue is how spotty TW communications can be. I've been involved with ea games that were worse but those were typically from studios with a handful of people.

The frequency at which patches are coming isn't the problem. We don't base our views on the progress of the game on how often it is updated. We look at the patch notes.

What have they actually added that isn't completely broken still??

Multiplayer is a compete mess with no light at the end of the tunnel in sight because the patches they do for it, which are rare already, not only don't deliver on pretty much anything but also go in the complete opposite direction of what 99% of players on multiplayer want.
^ Crush-through on every two handed weapon and way too frequently, for example.

Singleplayer is still barebones after months of patches, singleplayer native Warband has more content than Bannerlord, there's entire threads about it. https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...any-good-features-from-warband-and-vc.427070/

All you have to do to understand why we're not optimistic is ask what has actually been added to the game since the beginning of Early Access?
A few fixes here and there, reskinned textures and more RNG mechanics in multiplayer that nobody asked for.

Doesn't help that the devs don't really communicate with us which is evident by the fact whenever they actually do add something it is a direct contradiction to what we actually want, mostly as far as Multiplayer is concerned.

I've been playing Mount & Blade since 2010 and obviously, as most others, I want to see it succeed which is the entire point of people making threads highlighting the faults of the current game in an attempt to bring Taleworlds back to form.

All they'd have to do is start reading.

We're still playing because we have an inkling of hope the game is gonna finally be good.

I completely agree with your statement here. They are progressing slowly. Would just like more insight as to what's being worked on, what's coming out next and a possible date. Lot's of fans here just wanna know where it's going and what's coming up next. If there is a post on here or a link someone could send me where I can find that information please let me know.

Whats the point about m&b 2 then if it isn't a more fleshed out experience than m&b?

To play devils advocate not every game in a series has to be a reiteration, advancing/polishing mechanics and adding a few new features can be acceptable too. I certainly would like to have a ton of features added but it seems that TW either can't or won't do it.

But wasn't that what they promised? I mean the entire persuation and barter system. Why develop that and not use it to its fullest extend? The same goes for sub commanders in battles and siege equipment. They added quite a few things that sound good on paper but arent implemented in a satisfying or even somewhat functioning way.

I honestly think they got in over their heads and realized that they couldn't do it. I would be fine if they said hey we wanted to do this but it's just something we can't figure out how to do properly. But for some people pride is a big thing so for them it's better to just play dumb and hope people forget about it in time.

That's what I referred to in another thread. There are quite a few features which would improve on systems from the older games, but they either are not implemented in a working order or do not add much to the game or have simply not been updated in a long time.
While ongoing development is the point of an EA game (early access, not electronic arts for the cynics), there is so little known as to how TW wants the game to look and play when it's "done", the phases without tangible updates are harder to swallow.
