Red Cougar

Recruit
Its night and foggy yet they still manage to throw those axes with ungodly accuracy from 200+ feet.

Me, wandering around the map trying to find out where the hell everyone is:

Me: "Jesus, I can't see anything, where the hell did Borcha and Marnid go?"

*Throwing axe flys out of the fog and imbeds itself into my skull*

Thurmadore was knocked unconscious by Sea Raider

Me: "Crap, only three left, Borcha and Manrid Don't fail me!"

Sea Raiders
killed 0
wounded 1

Me: "NO!"

Lost 459 gold, lost charger, lost charger, lost ale, lost charger, ect., ect.

Me: "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I ONLY NEEDED ONE MORE CHARGER TO FINISH THAT ****ING QUEST!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!"

hi, Red Couger

The ai dont use vision like us, all they see is 011001 010 10011 101 1110 etc. etc. (i think anyway) i dont think theyve writen the code that says *cant see 10 ft past fog* yet and theyle see you wherever you ar on the map unfortunatly

Killer Rat

T'would be very nice to see AI suffer from poor visibility. Maybe even enough to introduce a stealth element for the loners.

It depends on the brightness settings though. Even in fog I can usually see the other side of the battlefield. Personally, I think they have heat seeking projectiles. I swear one once threw an axe which actually curved in mid air to follow me. Mind you, I have noticed my character getting headshots in on enemies, despite not aiming for their head, so it could be skill % based.

Why stop at poor visibility though? weather should have other effects, for example rain would affect bow useage, snow would affect mobility etc.

remember that, as killer rat said, the ai only see 1010 10101010 10110101

they can miss you from 5 feet , but the same guy can sometimes hit from 200 ft, its all chance.
also does the arrow actually rise a little at short distance, as you can aim for the chest and get a headshot... weird :???:

i think a kool formation option should happen then roads be built and carts and u can take your horsemen to ambush an enemy caravan instead of goin into open combat with it

Damage and range of bows and crossbows is reduced by 25% under rain.
Ranged Troop accuracy is reduced by fog and darkness.
Horses run slower under rain and at night.

I suppose that Red Cougar just had a very bad luck. Or this system needs to be improved.

Heh, I never noticed.

Probably because my men can't hit the broadside of a barn at the best of times.

I think most missile hits are bad luck. I have noticed if you stand still in front of the AI it still needs two or three shots before it hits you. Most likely you end up moving into the path of the missile rather than the AI actually shooting accurately. It works both ways though, I'm sure a few people have fired off an arrow over a hill at random, only to recieve a headshot message and a shot difficulty in the teens.

I also have found this to be the case. It also seems to work the other way, as when you hit an AI missile unit that was stationary it usually starts moving.

Yeah.. I never get hit mid-body / leg with axes and sea raiders.
It's either, shield, face, or not at all.
I'm sure it wouldn't be so bad if other partys like, didn't mysteriously eat/use/makewhateverdissapearintotheground when they got it from you.

Say you loose the battle by just one person, he talks three chargers and 1000 gold, you go back, own him backwards forwards left right and diagonally and get to the loot screen.
None of your chargers show up.
You get MAYBE 50 gold.

Your like (Wtf? Did he eat the horses and give the ground money for more ale?)
