so i have been addicted to M&B:warband the last few days, and now im trying to get a wife... she has about 31 relation thing with me, she also has a brother (boyar crahask) and everytime i ask him if i can see his sister, he says blabla lad we all know boyar nelag is a way finer catch than you. So i already improved my relationship with him to like 25 or something, and he still wont let me see her. So i tried going to boyar nelag, but he doesnt want to duel with me, and apparently he also doesnt mind me seeing his possible wife so is there any way i can marry her?

Try to speak with her and impress her to the point where you can bring up marriage. Once you do that, you can challenge, I believe.

I've had this... problematic in one of my games. What I've done is that I did everything I could to improve my relation with the lady's protector, and I played hard on the political front to boost my renown throughout the Kingdom by taking part in sieges, becoming Marshall, etc. Eventually, my renown (and properties) seemed to be sufficient to convince the lady's protector that I was now the "better catch". I'm not sure there's an exact formula, but by being powerful (lots of renown), having good relations with the other lords of the realm and having lots of fiefs/castles/towns, I managed to convince the lady's father, who was quick to arrange a proper marriage between our two loving souls and we lived happily ever after.

As Marmz suggests above, your renown needs to be higher than your rival for you to be considered a better catch.

for her relatives to accept you, you need to have high renown like 600 or more

Ok, but boyar doru is ok with me courting his daughter or sister idk, so is it best to just part ways with the other girl and get an easy marriage with boyar dorus girl?

Renown isn't everything. I think fief holdings have an effect as well.

I think some women require honor. I don't think fiefs have anything to do with it because I've married lords who have towns daughters when I just had a village.

But considering he's got 31 relationship points with the lady in question, I'm pretty sure the culprit here is the brother, who feels some other pretender is a better catch.
So work on your renown, or elope

yeah thats what i said her brother thinks "boyar nelag" is a better catch for her so isnt there a way to get nelag to well you know **** off sorry didnt want to say it because i dont think its allowed ;P

What is your lady's personality?  (Ask a bard if you don't know.)  If she's Ambitious, she might give you a quest to duel her other admirer.  Or if Nelag's got any enemies in the faction, you might get a quest from one of them to denounce him to the king--or denounce him to his face (which will result in a duel).

Otherwise, you could raise your renown above Nelag's (have a companion scout the Vaegirs, then check your journal to find out his renown score), or dump the girl and marry Boyar Doru's daughter instead.

Well to ask what I asked in roleplay if people asked for my daughters hand:

How many fiefs you hold right now, Sire? 

If you hold a town and a castle or several villages it's very likely your desired Ladies family will agree to the wedding even if your relation isn't that high

Next time talk to the lady and ask, do you think we have a future together, and if there is another lord going after her you should get the option to start the quest to duel with lord...

You've got a pretty respectable collection of fiefs.  Hopefully, you won't have problems with your new girl!
