I need help with a quest [SPOILERS]

This happens to be the only quest that doesn't have a guide here apparently. It is the quest about the treasures of Brytanwalda. I talked to the traveling guy with a name (something like Choco something, bugger if I remember his name) then he told me to go to Cantwaraburh to see a guy named Owain ap Mordred. Problem is I can't find the latter. Checked the tavern, the shop, roamed the city for half an hour, nothing. WHERE IS HE?

Normally I wouldn't ask for help but it turns out that for some reason the good Christian town of Cantwaraburh wants me dead (I can't be because of all the monasteries I raided right? ), anyway, it is hard to sneak in and the patrols are too strong for me to take. Actually there is one sitting outside the town right now and I don't know what I'm going to to about it, probably sacrifice more men... sigh.

You can't go in the great hall when you sneak into town. The guard just tells you that beggars are not allowed in. Trust me I tried.

You'll have to negotiate peace.
Although...*SPOILER ALERT*
I don't recommend putting a lot of effort into it. You get *nothing* at all from this quest. He simply tells you to bugger off.

...thank you for telling me. I think I might have thrown my computer out of the window if I had found out on my own.

I am starting to see this pattern: quests in this mod are worth **** all. The god damn quest where you have to beat that group of trouble makers, and they are actually a rather tough fight, you get a measly 100 scillingas. I mean wtf? I'm starting to wonder if any of them are worth something.

Yeah, the Cantabrians... That shocked me too. I didn't even get a positive relation with the town. Some of the quests, however are quite worth it depending on how far you're into the game and include stuff like a helmet with probably the highest defense value in the game and a very effective 2-handed axe if you're into them.

Well, if you want rewards...

Try paying a visit to Din Eydin, and some ancient ruins and caves...
And if-ever you're roaming on the map you may get this oportunity to do a bit of grave digging.....

Plus, if you think about it, everytime you fight with a lord it's a quest with a possible reward as well, since they have special weapons and armor sometimes, needs looting skill too.

But... COME ON, man, if you go to Canterbury you'll meet MORDRED'S SON! That's already epic as it is, even when he just tells you to bolt...

I have the helmet and gave it to my master-at-arms companion because I use a cloak which is a million times more epic (in looks) then that bucket.

And sadly no, axes don't really interest me, two-handed swords would, any of those out there?

None that I know of, but plenty of one-handed swords. Especially 'Cyning Eadbald's Sword' seems to be popular. I have like 10 of those.

Hi there,
Never seen ancient ruins and caves on campaign map. Are they like hideouts in forests? Or I should try a walk in the city streets and look for something likewise? No-wise as I don't know what i am looking for exactly...
And..
You say that it's a quest to fight with a lord - on battlemap or in duel? Actually I never thought that looting affects the quality and quantity of the spoils of a battle. I thought it was only about looting villages... So much to learn in M&B yet, pitiful me...

Thank you!

Walking through this Brittania Treasures prerequisite acquaintances I wonder if higher Persuation skill won't be necessary when meeting Owain. I hope that this could add some more dialogue options with him as I don't see a way to improve relations...

And On Quests: I am a user that prefers such despite any lack of rewards. I just can't help starting and finishing them. It is an Oblivion, you know...

Hey there, bro

I'm going to answer your questions, but think twice before reading, the magic of Brytenwalda really is on discovering new things on your own, especially since they aren't super-hard like in other mods around.

Oh, they're like landings, but you can see them all the time, check the city of Loidis, I guess, it's a city from Bernacia that is far from the coast, you'll find the ancient ruins close to it on the map. The cave is on the faarr north of the map, in pictland, by the mountains. Beware, though, beating these places can be tough, the idea is to fight one guy at a time and use your shield a lot.

And I meant real battles, like, finding a lord on the map and ruining his day.

At least in the previous versions there was a chance of getting their weapons/armor as loot.  You also get sweet war trophies from it now as well, that you can trade for money and experience.

Thank you! I will think twice and will never spoil the game with a spoiler

You could always max out your charactor with the import/export, by exportting your original, then importing a super-soldier, (with persuasion) and talk to him, and right after, delete the super-soldier file, and import your old charactor.
