I Need a good quickstart guide

It appears im newb i need a good quickstart guide. As i cannot complete anything beyond the kill the bandits quest

begin by hiring like 30 troops (type depends on where you hire them) (DONT HIRE SWEDEN CAV)
then go kill some deserters and bandits
then go arrange some caravans
when you have enough renown ask a king to be his vassal (or warlord i dont know i didnt do that xD)
