I made a Wooden Roman Fort map

Users who are viewing this thread

Hey Guys,
With the Roman mods that have slowly started to come out I thought I would start working on Roman maps.
I have created a simple Roman Wooden Fort, which is planned to be used for MP battles against the Barbarian tribes. (when custom servers arise)
This map will have multiple weather variations for battles, ranging from sunny, snowing and all the way to thunderstorms + raining.
It's still a work in progress but I hope you like it.

Looking good dude, can't wait to see some crazy roman mods get created. The roads are a bit too straight and the tents maybe a bit too uniform, but it looks like a great start. Would like to see if you update it with some more detail

Thanks man. Going off roman history of their forts the romans loved having layouts like this. Their tents were always organized and the same (Generals tent was always bigger or better or both)
I believe the Romans were all OCD neat freaks lmao

That makes sense in that case. I think it's maybe just that each tent is the exact same model with the same creases and what-not that makes it a bit jarring and robotic, but that's probably more work than it's worth to fix. Anyway that's just a nit-pick, nice work regardless.

Its because we have limited native assets, TW gave us like 3 different types of tents
Thanks man

The images which you use are broken. Can you reupload them again?
What do you mean broken, they work fine when I click them?

The images are working for me Earendil. clear your facebook cache maybe, or with a different browser, mobile phone etc. I had this issue with TWimage greywool recently

Plan of a typical Roman camp (not to scale). 1. The Praetorian Gate; 2. The porta decumana (so called as it was next to the tents of the tenth cohort of the legion); 3. Left-hand Gate; 4. Right-hand Gate; 5. The Praetorian street; 6. The main street; 7. The via quintana (or "street of the fifth," so called as it lay between the fifth and sixth companies); 8. The forum; 9. The praetorium (square on which stood the general's tent); 10. The spot used for sacrifices; 11. Tent for the standards and ensigns of the legions; 12. The tribunal (or rostrum from which the general addressed his troops); 13. The Quaestor's tent and administrative offices; 14. Tents for the commander's bodyguard; 15. Officers' tents, opening toward the tents of the legionaries; 16. Legionaries' quarters. They were skin tents in the summer, wood or stone barracks in the winter; 17. Quarters of the allies and mercenaries; 18. Stables; 19. Repair workshop; 20. Defensive ditch (about 4 meters wide); 21. Rampart; 22. Palisade. When the camp was moved a short distance, the soldiers carried the stakes from one site to the next; 23. Observation turrets.
