Well, the Romanians still put them on their Renault R35s in 1944, because they were a bit less obsolete than their own guns.

Well, by 1944 we had bought the StuGs, the Pz IVs, Panzerfausts and a whole bunch of 7.5cm PaKs from Germany so the situation was much better for Finns than it was for the Romanians - and thanks to geography, Soviets couldn't launch as massive tank attacks in Finland as they could in Romania. But point taken. Would be interesting to note what happened to all those captured 45mm guns. I would assume that they were used to equip AT-companies in the infantry divisions but I honestly don't know.

I think the Hungarians would be very eager to buy those, they were desperate for anything better than 40mm Bofors AA guns at that point.
The Romanians captured lots of 76mm field guns, they only used thee 45mm on the Renault because anything bigger couldn't fit into its turret (and even then they had to enlarge it to keep some space for the commander and ammo inside).

Yes the artist is definitely channeling Tove Jansson there to evoke the Moomin feeling from them. Not a bad move at all!
