I just, er... composed something

Well call me Ishmael, thar be the great white whale!

Oh, the music's good too. Reminds me of the 'Three Blind Mice' nursery rhyme.

Aside from the very end with that plane sound, I find it just ... repetitive. It's not even trance-inducing. If you want to keep only a single theme throughout the whole thing, you'd best put more weird stuff along with it: crowds, sounds from nature, sounds from a factory, whatever, just punctuate it with MORE, it's very empty as is.

At least that's what I was thinking. Still, it's good in the background.

Yeah, it's ****. It's just the product of me messing around with an audio program for an evening.

can't really listen to it Instag0, it's only coming out of the left channel and it's making my bass speakers go crazy, what program you using to make music on, personally i use reason

Impressive

I do some recording with my band... we're going to be getting into a professional studio first semester of the school year, so I'm pretty stoked

Same here, 'cept we're headed to the studio (which is where we practice, cause we can't get drums, and an hour is like 3 dollars) to record sometime next week I think.

Nice, man. What genres do you guys play?

Sadly, they made an emo song.

We're a fixin' it up though.

They hope to play some shoegaze and indie, I wanna learn the synthesizer and start a synthrock sorta thing.

That's made on FL Studio. I just downloaded the demo of it, and Reason, Live 8 yesterday. So far, FL Studio is the only one I've kinda learned how to do **** with. I also got the 30 day trial of Reaper today, and it's nice because it doesn't limit what you can do- it's fully featured for all 30 days. But I think I'll mess around with FL Studio a few more days. I can't save projects, but since I'm not being to serious about it so far, an afternoon of messing around is enough time to get things done. Luckily it does let me export as .mp3s and such, so I can post crud like this to youtube.

Nothing wrong with emo, man. Just don't get too whiny

@Instag0

I would encourage you to buy some more software. If that's your first composition, you get a real talent just waiting to be developed.

Thanks Spartan.

Well, right now I'm trying to get into the Music Technology program at my school that deals with this sort of stuff. I want to try it out for at least a semester. If I enjoy it, then I'll continue with it. I assume I'll get access to some good software there, and they may even hand out some copies for students. I don't have the kind of money to shell out $200-$600 a piece, even though the software is definitely worth it.

I've heard of stuff you can get for around $60 on the internet... I would encourage you to look around

Reason is sick man, you're lucky to have it.
yeah, reason is an amazing program, been using it for a few years now, self taught, thinking about going to college though to learn about the program in more depth

yeah i use to use fruity loops a few years back, a friend give it to me and said you can make music on it, was never into making music before that, but since then i've continued to do so, if you get into it properly, i'd say give reason a shot, once you get around the setup and the basics, it's easy enough to make a beat on it, but theres alot of depth to it aswell which is why i'm thinking of going to college
