Sergeant
Hi all,

Recording for another episode of Lady Bearington's adventures, we're Marshall and kicking ass. We have about 560 to 300 troops against the Fierdsvain, and we're wrecking them.

It's the final battle, and we're now 300 - 100, during the battle I get knocked out (of course ) but there are barely any troops left on the enemy team at all, and we've had essentially no casualties.

However, none of that matters. I immediately lose the battle, loose all my troops, become prisoner, lose 50,000 denars (SO MUCH!) and all my companions. Their about 80 strong force (mostly injured) walks away with just me as a prisoner, whilst all the lords of the Empire just kinda let them go.

What one earth just happened?

Hmm, if you were the attackers and everyone was joining in at a distance, what might have happened is:

Your party has 0 people able to fight. In such a case, you can neither attack or autoresolve, and in such a case your party is instantly defeated. Your party then disappears off the map.

As for the lords being odd, it happens whenever the faction's Marshall is gone. They default into a "wait what" bit and then probably run off to their fiefs.

allways check that you will have enough units left to retreat with, (not wounded) I think what happens is your allys just kinda let you get captured and dont think to send any guys in to drag you out... so you get captured

This is known from native.

It is one of the unfortunate features that were meant to put the OP player in his place...

...same as defending against siege waves with no waiting time until the next attack wave, unlike the player who has to rebuild the ladders/siege tower.

Note, that this not only happens when you're attacked, but also when YOU attack someone someone. So it is almost impossible to lead an army with just a 10ish party, because if you get KO'ed it's over.

Sometimes this can even happen, even though the rest of your party can still fight.

More than 5 active units are needed to be able to escpae, to be precise. If you have only 4 or less left, it´s the kick.

It's funny, I know that, but at the time I just... forgot, and in my blind hatred of all things in existence at losing so much, I brought that forgetfulness all the way here to the forums.

It's okay though; The Fierdsvain are getting theirs.

yeah, i hate hatred.  :dead: the fierds man. :dead: them. i hate  hatred and fierds!  KILL THEM WITH  FIRE MAN!!!111one1! sorry man, i hate fierds.

*later edited for better language accuracy and damage.
**also obligatory reaction to fierds 6k army campaigns against your first castle

but yeah, when lords have too few troops even aghaton or roland will let you down in situations like that.

I am compelled to interject with the obligatory "Stop ****ing swearing, god damnit!"

Well, I've had it a few times, when my remaining 20ish or more guys were ready to fight, but I only had the option to surrender. That was a long time ago though, so I don't know if that was ever fixed. I simply avoid letting that happen again.

Hey, noos, MM, can we keep this thread somewhere? there is no casual pendor here and it seems i am not the only one reading this forum more than i read the newspapers. especially since i badly cut my hand and haven't played pendor in two weeks now. plus, the title is quite appropriate for the casual pendor player chatroom.

I love when the Fierds attack my first castle, that means their army is not at a much shinier castle some place else
