... that I've been working on for several years now. It started as a design doc back when I was in College (I have a degree in Multimedia Game Design; 3D Modeling, writing, etc). I think Mount & Blade would be perfect for what I have in mind, although I have zero experience modding M&B.
So, basically what I'm asking for here is a few tutorials - something that would show/teach me the capabilities of the engine - as well as if anyone would be sincerely interested in working on a game that is, more or less, a total conversion mod.
In a nutshell, my design doc outlines a game that would be similar to "Van Helsing" in terms of setting; 16th/17th century Romania, Austria, and as far south as areas around Constantinople/Istanbul and present day Turkey. There are a few twists with history, such as the use of firearms (there will be a few out of their timeline), and it will draw heavily on the fantasy/horror genre (there will be limited, and I mean limited, amounts of "magic" and alchemy, with werewolves, vampires, and assorted undead). I have no intent of making this a g-rated horror story - I want it to be violent, dangerous, and unforgiving, and I want people to sincerely feel "scared" in many situations. If I had to describe and compare it to other games, I would say it most resembled TES/Fallout 3 in terms of open-ended exploration and gameplay (but there are many reasons as to why I've chosen to use M&B over those games as a starting point).
This may be crossing into the realm of impossibility with what I have to work with (in terms of what the engine is capable of), but I want to have something that I can be proud to put on my resume, and in the future I would, hopefully, like to see a stand alone version of the game properly developed.
If I get a response from this, maybe we can set something up and start working (send me a pm or post here), but if not, that's fine too... I *am* kind of a busy person, but I really want to see this unfold in some way.
