Why would you max leadership skills in the first place? I don't invest in them at all, prisonder management is useless for anything but lords (so 1 point in it is enough) and party size increases quite dramatically with renown. I ended my last game with something like 5k renown and party size over two hundred.
You forget that leadership also reduces troop upkeep by 5% per level and gives a bonus to troop morale. If you want to have many companions you might consider to increase trade so you don't have to pay a total of 500.000 denars for their equipment.
And if I remember correct you don't need prisoner management to capture a lord (but as I always have 2 ranks I'm not sure). Prisoner management is also a way to get more money, while I don't use it that often others do (especially if you mod the amount to be based on level).

Troop upkeep is kinda nice, but the morale bump isn't that much compared to the dropoff as you add more troops. At high levels, another point in leadership just lets you have like 2-3 extra troops for the same morale. Not worth it, in my opinion.

It all really depends on what kind of game and what kind of mod you play.

I mod my game and play SoD which is more difficult than vanilla.  So I'm fighting higher level troops due to my modding, have less cash, due to SoD mod, and have bigger armies with bigger moral boost from leadership do to my modding.

So for me, leadership means more than it does in vanilla and its a worthwhile skill.

If you play with the battle sizer mod you will want some early on just so you can field a bigger army.

Now in a pure vanilla battle size 100 only game, its less useful, I'll grant everyone that.

Save before entering a tournament, be more careful and make sure you realize Xerina is female
Yes you have to realise its a girl, its very important
It might matter: if you have a male and a female opponent left and know one of them is Xerina, you might assume Xerina is "only a sword sister" and go for the wrong opponent.

Both sword sisters and Xerina are quite whoopable and are accustomed to eating dust, so, no biggie.

No, I mean to have maxed weapon master, leadership, and trade as well (just for the hell of it)
Why do you want to max out weapon master and trade?

I hate Kradus and Dranton much more than Xerina, although if I manage to locate any of the three in a tournament I make sure I take them out ASAP.  After a few dozen tournaments you get sick of seeing their ugly faces.

Just the thought of Dranton with a Bow and me with No shield gives me shivers.. :!:
Try hiding behind any possible corners, strafing, jumping over arrows and ofcourse, getting your ass close to him as quick as you can without getting shot in it.

My unfailing tactic for dealing with archers, Dranton included: Make straight for him, when he's about to release his arrow make a 90° turn and wait for the arrow to whiz past your back, then continue towards him.

But... then you're running further away from them. How is that going to help?
No, you're running in a circle around him. And it helps in that he won't hit you in the face with his arrow.
