I Give Up

After trying to gain the basic skill of implementing scripts/triggers using the module system and python and following the instructions on this forum for doing so step-by-step, I have failed miserably repeatedly.  I simply get a massive string of syntax errors when building the module and I haven't a clue where to go from there.

Would anyone who has successfully implemented the formation script (with or without morale, I'm really rather indifferent) into the Native game mode upload their module for download as a mini-mod?  I would be endless appreciative, and I'm sure others ignorant of the ways of Python would be too.

Much appreciated.

Don't give up!!!

It takes a lot of time to work out what's wrong! It just takes time. Don't worry, it happened to me too.

Probably the reason of this is because you've either put a comma where you're not meant to, or you've not put it somewhere.

The error and the place where it occured should be written in the compiling window.

Have you placed it before the very last ] (it's the end of the script)?

By the way, someone uploaded the module_scripts.py and module_mission_templates.py files on the repository, it's called "Formations!" I think.

I am having something diferent...the tutorial 10 is missing, so i don t know how to complete towns, make menus and even saw the simple_trigger, where you were supposed to put a (else try) blablabla...
I don t know to make new scenes  trought the edit mode...well, i know how to make, but don t know how to assingn then and put the npcs there...i even have starting points, but...

I already made some changes to factions, made new troops who upgrade the original ones, are not just flying troops around (the swadians are a little bit overpowered, gotta change it) and the cities who apear perfectly in the world map becomes...training grounds...but in a city scene and in  a tavern scene (there are 2)...

I keep looking in the forums, but still fail...sometimes Epic Fail...

So, if anyone could point to me the a topic where this is explained...

I think it might be because they changed "print" in python 3.0, you can still download 2.6 from their page.

It's also a good idea to do small things when coding for the first time.

I started out REALLY small:

It ain't much, but I made something happen and felt a tiny bit of success in me.

Maybe I should try changing it's ownership next..
