I actually felt this way too when I first started playing warband, but somehow it grew on me.  You just need to get used to it I guess.  Unless you've been playing for a while, then screw everything I just said.

At first I didn't like the new way, and was very frustrated, but now I love it.

1.  Swords and other weapons feel like there is momentum and inertia involved in swinging them.  (Havoc?)
2.  Being able to raise my lance at high speeds allows me to weave through troops much better in pitched battles, and turn much close to the walls in tournaments.

 They are much much more better than they were before. They were way to stiff in M&B. Warbands animations are much more lovable. I'm very pleased with the new look.

It is a bit perplexing at first but it does become easier not to mention far more versatile since you have a lot more angles to attack when you swing your weapon not to mention those unique haft-bladed weapons.

I hate it, looks damn unnatural when you are swinging the sword on a horse, he is bending his arm so far back its just weird

It was completely incorrect and looked so stiff. I like the change.

I agree. I never had a problem with the original animations until I played Warband, then I went back and played Sword of Damocles and I felt like I was playing as an action figure with no joints.
