Moving to Steam as a solution to problems is backwards. There tends to be a higher likelihood of launch issues of Warband (et al.) through a Steam installation than one from outside of it.
I'm not entirely sure of the things you have tried here. Your best bet is a full un-install. After uninstalling, you might also consider deleting the hidden data the game keeps in %APPDATA%\Mount&Blade Warband\ (like your MP profiles and control settings). Also to delete would be the rgl_config.txt file found in your Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\ folder. You might also go into your Windows Registry and delete all the key information stored there to try for a fully fresh start.
Then install the Warband downloaded directly from Taleworlds and then the NW downloaded directly from FSE (neither downloaded from Amazon, if those were causing you troubles, and both full installations, not patches).
That should give you the freshest possible, and it certainly should work.
If not, then did you buy directly from Amazon or from a re-seller? It is possible that your key(s) is not legitimate.

Then type "regedit" in that window and press enter.
