Moving to Steam as a solution to problems is backwards. There tends to be a higher likelihood of launch issues of Warband (et al.) through a Steam installation than one from outside of it.


I'm not entirely sure of the things you have tried here. Your best bet is a full un-install. After uninstalling, you might also consider deleting the hidden data the game keeps in %APPDATA%\Mount&Blade Warband\  (like your MP profiles and control settings). Also to delete would be the rgl_config.txt file found in your Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\ folder.  You might also go into your Windows Registry and delete all the key information stored there to try for a fully fresh start.

Hit the Windows Key and R, which will bring up a Run... window.
Then type "regedit" in that window and press enter.

Once there, navigate the tree to:

HKEY_CurrentUser->Software->MountAndBladeWarbandKeys

On the right hand side you should see a list of things like serial_key.

You should also see an entry for NW, which you can delete, too

Then install the Warband downloaded directly from Taleworlds and then the NW downloaded directly from FSE (neither downloaded from Amazon, if those were causing you troubles, and both full installations, not patches).

That should give you the freshest possible, and it certainly should work.
If not, then did you buy directly from Amazon or from a re-seller? It is possible that your key(s) is not legitimate.

So by this you mean I have to buy Warband  & NW all over from TaleWorlds?

You can download from Taleworlds without re-purchasing if that is your question. If that isn't your question, I don't know. As you have registered NW, it appears you have a legitimate key for that; without the icon for WB or you responding to where you bought WB, it isn't as clear that you have a legitimate key for WB so you may need to buy a legit key if you don't have one.

Again, as my post stated, it is unclear what of the suggested solutions you have tried or where exactly you purchased the games from. With all that folks have posted above, you have more than enough information to solve whatever hiccups you are experiencing...if you own legitimate keys to both Warband and the Napoleonic Wars DLC, that is.

I do own a legit key for WB and NW. I bought the game on Amazon which was the biggest mistake. If you could, please direct me with a link to where I may download both without re-purchasing. And just BTW I have scoured the forums and tried every possible solution including the ones that are in this thread.  So no I am stuck if you cannot help me as it looks I am indeed running out of options/solutions and its starting to look like I just wasted nearly 20 good hard earned dollars.

Tried everything... All your steps above. Still nothing works.. I have no idea what to do.
