I come bearing gifts for one and all (many sharp and pointy tools for killing).

Also, if you can, SWUP can really use your modelling skills.

It's in the first page. (Standard Weapons Upgrade Project)

Ahh ok, will those loops suffice or do i need to do the poles theyre carried from too and such?

I don't think poles on the gonfalons are necessary. Mind you, it would be awesome if you could model a pole separately, maybe even with an attached bronze wallhanger. I could easily multi-mesh that with all of the faction gonfalons so we'd only need one model for the whole lot.

Alright, ill see what can be done, youll see em here once ready :>

A far cry from the ugly sticks packaged with baseline Oblivion.

I found myself using a bow because the swords were all too ugly.

The vanilla oblivion stuff wasnt really ugly if you like fantasy  -purely aesthetically speaking though, the only unappealing feature IMHO (to some) about the oblivion weapons is that they all have this rather generic look to them...

Anywho, heres a sorta important question, what formats would you guys prefer for me to have the textures and models in? I could see to what I can export :p

Could you please export them in .obj, or .3ds, I'm having trouble knowing how to export stuff in Lightwave. Thanks

He has problems with that as well. You made a crap-load of good quality models there. I like the new pickaxe/hamer, despite you saying you didn't got the texture right. Well done.

I agree!

Don't leave yet!

Actually since I realised that I pretty much have to triangulate(triple) my models anyways 3ds works just fine, just that theres obviously going to be more or less noticeable quality loss...
just give me photos (or very detailed and coloured drawings) of the weapons you want done and I'll give em a shot when I get the chance :>

Heres that warhammer, in low and high poly (triangulated). 3ds, obj and lwo formats included.

It's best to use something with an alpha channel. Losing the alpha channel is usually bad. DDS is the texture format Mount&Blade uses, so that's naturally best, but personally I can use anything that can be loaded by the GIMP.

3ds (along with lwo and obj) and bmp it is then....
some damn issues outside teh intarwebs turned up so its gonna take a couple of days til i get the banner thingies done (those, and everything else) but rest assured, theyll still be here yet :p

as for the weapons that i'll continue doing, I set the low poly limit to 500 so that theyll retain their good looks even after being tripled/triangulated... or is that too much? - I could go as low as 300 a piece but it'll well start showing that theyre that low :/

Made another dagger cause im bit bored, drunk and... well I dont know i just wanted to make it. Also, I acknowledge that I sorta slacked on the metal bits of the hilt but meh thats the way it is now.

300 polies triangulated

Your models are freakishly beautiful, I absolutely love the voulge (?) and the axes, they look properly used!
Any chance you might be doing maces and morningstars?

Yeah I got a couple of designs in mind :>

Thanks again guys but eventhough I rather do like the masturbation of my ego, you wouldnt do that if you know how freakishly simple it is to do these things
-I could teach anyone of you to do these in 30-60 minutes (well obviously the simplest designs are the fastest much like a katana), the only requirements being msn, lightwave and a good photo of a weapon

maybe you could do a tutorial?
I suppose so, but it would have to be a video tutorial, that takes some more planning :p

And heres that mace, 500 polies triangulated, lightwave decided to be an arse and make the shadows really dark on the part with the pointy... whatever you call the top part of the mace. Theyre not really that dark

and then theres this dagger, im too facking wasted to see anything else right now so er rr
300 poly triagled

Where did the texture for the mace head come from? I've been trying to find something like that for ages.

I aint releasing anything to you guys, I had a rather sore experience on the irc channel, its overpopulated by the wrong people.
They made it rather clear to me that they want NONE of my stuff.
