I dont know what im doing wrong, as i swear in the first patches it was too easy to convince lords to switch to your side, now im finding it nigh impossible. I have pretty decent charm (150), and im trying to get the lords im at war with who are enemies with their king to join me. i made the point of supporting them and getting relations up with them as much as i could, so much so even after i defected i have like 60+ relations with some.

However i literally cant succeed with any of them. Im not sure if its bugged, as although they initally address me as a friend, when i try and convince them to join me they say "i barely know you" wtf i have insane relations with you and you hate your king why the hell not, let alone giving them money.

In warband atleast if you had a new kingdom you could get SOME lords, like those that came to your castle to ask to join you. I have to go on a wild goose chase with my one small army to find the clan leaders who all reject me.

Help?

i can convince them sometimes, but then they want cash, and they want over a million to switch. I've also had lords join me then switch days later. So spending millions isn't worth it.

I think someone made a mod to make it cheaper to hire lords and there is another mod to make them more loyal so they won't jump ship instantly, but i know telling you to go install a mod is not the answer you want, i personally want them to focus more on the endgame, kingdom, fief and vassal management, diplomacy in general is very important, but since the game also launched as multiplayer they gotta also give those guys some support too, so i guess the fix for those problems will take time.

its not worth modding stuff like this imo. You will probably have to start a new game when they tweak it.

This has been done in previous versions, and the chance of persuasion is entirely a matter of luck. Personal advice continues s/l.
There are specialized mercenary families, but the daily pay is high.

Interesting. I did it the day before yesterday and found it to be easy and cheap. I paid the guy 100k. I think the value might be % of your net worth. The same way other barters seem to work. I've got married for 4k to over 100k. The value changes depending on how much you have. Same thing for when you pay to get away from a battle sometimes they want no more than a few thousand up to maybe 700k was the most I might have paid. So that's the theory I've been working on. That the amount demanded is % of net worth or at least money in the bank.

Now the minimum proportion of my transaction must be 10.8m, but each character can satisfy it.

I've been able to win over a few lords, one joined me for free because HONOR and one just wanted like 25-50K gold, while others want over 200K.

I assume that the ones who want money wants more if they have more/better fiefs. The guy with 25-50k gold requirement had only one castle, while im pretty sure the other had 1 town and something more.

Same problem here. I convince them but the money they require is ridiculous and l don't know why l cannot offer them fiefs. I have like 12 fiefs but when we negotiate l can only offer them money, some lord prisoner and stuff from inventory, which doesn't make sense. l mean that's the easy way to draw them to your faction, fiefs.

I am sure we will be able to offer then fiefs at a later point (or maybe we can only do it when we unlock barter fief option)

If you don't have much money, the trick is to target low tier nobles with small amount of fiefs to convince them to join you.
They will ask much less money then big wealthy clans. Also there is an exploit, but I don't wanna talk about that
p.s. when convince them to join your team, they can also leave you and go back to their old boss...

ok, i guess devs should fix that in future...
you talk to clan leader , and you need 4 right answers, to fill those 4 circles, right...
let just say, you speak with him/her and you fill only 2 circles, and conversation is over...
Then you save game, and reload that last save without unpausing game.
Then you speak with him again, and you will start conversation with already 2 circles filled , and you need 2 more...
