I am repulsively disappointed in MP, Taleworlds.

Toxicity has been a big part of Warband community for a long time now, not like I have the right to criticize anyone, but some parts and players of the community have been very discouraging for new players.
Cheating Is Becoming A Big Problem In Online Gaming

"Of the online gamers, only 12% have never had their multiplayer gaming experience negatively impacted by other players cheating. In other words, about 9 in 10 players have had a negative experience because of cheaters."

Same reason I won't be going back to defend my point either haha. I mean, we could probably use the advanced search tool to look for "10%" by username "Callum" in the "The Proving Grounds - Beta Discussion" board, but who has time for that.

And look, I know we are on the same page in that we all want MP to be great, and I know there are many issues with Bannerlord's MP right now, including what you highlighted with new players being steamrolled by experienced premades. Believe me when I say I'm very much of the, "give us ranked MM ASAP" crowd. However, unfortunately, we have limited resources and have to prioritise our work. And while it might seem as simple as just offloading the work to an outside source, it is actually much, much more complicated than that.

TW has been neglecting multiplayer since Warband released. In time, the reason of this negligence became low player base but the sad fact is your negligence is the reason to low number of players. Also the funny part is that you changed the beautiful parts of Warband's mp for attracting new players to mp, instead of changing your approach to multiplayer.

How can some new players hold up for multiplayer while they get instakilled? They can't and they couldn't in warband. They won't in bannerlord too. We played as six premade. I think we won 15 matches in two days without losing single round. We didn't like it, I guess same as our opponents. After some days we might play again but they won't play it again. It happened in Warband and it will happen again. Then you will come back and say look people don't play mp so our focus is sp . I mean its ridiculous...

Also I can't understand how you are on low resources. You just sold 2 million copies. You have like 120 people in and still Mynes alone can make better matchmaking than you ? If you can't disperse someone to multiplayer why did you released it in the first place?

And if you would ask this community to develop mp for you , probably they would help. And I guess they would do better job...

ouch ... sad but true

I can’t think of a community that’s less inviting than competitive warband, at 3800 hours nobody wanted to teach me to play comp and I was actively shunned as a noob.. it wasn’t a good place for an experienced player I can’t even imagine what it was like being new in warband. I really was hoping people where going to get over elitism to a video game

It's understandable. The SP shows more promise by all metrics so why would they prioritze MP. But do I understand it correctly that ranked MM is in the plans, even if not too high in the priority list?

Damn man that's sad. My experience was much more pleasant, I guess I was lucky to stumble into many friendly people and I was taught and drilled both in native and NW, it was great and a lot of fun, found some good friends. And later paid back by teaching quite a few newbies, some of them later became prominent competitive players.

I think we were mostly annoyed by the constant ignoring, removals, lack of answers to really worked out feedback, and the poor communication summed up to some spicy recent statements.

As I said like 5+ times this week, I would do SP mainly if I were them(right now, specially bug/crashes fixes), but takes 5 minutes to communicate the intentions and when this most needed priorities for MP are coming(Ranked, Damage inconsistencies fix, Class basic mechanics balanced/fixed) if they even plan to bring them as it's unclear now.

These are so easy fixes tbh, wouldnt even take alot of effort. If you go for some basic stuff.

If I understood anything about TW it's that they don't like giving promises, and I can understand it, since everything they'll say will be taken as a promise and that might not end up good. They probably think it's better to stay silent and then just make a happy surprise like they did with siege.

Can't host a duel server, can't host a server full stop. Can't host a tournament without server. By the time the basics are delivered the potential boost in competitive playerbase we been hoping for for years will be squandered. People who worked hard to keep community ticking over for 10 years wanting to strike while the iron's hot, it'll be dead cold by the time they can even run a tournament. Probably for the best honestly.

I had great experiences with NW! 1LH aka BoTH are great dudes, I even played NANWL with them. I’m talking more about what I’ve seen from the native comp scene which was a bad experience

It's sad to read this, especially from such a great player, it tells a lot about the actual state of multiplayer and the fact that there is a distrust right now. What M is saying is true and it is what might likely happen in the future. I just hope that it won't happen this way but only time will tell.

Both of us have been here since the early Warband days and understand that, but being silent over topics that have been brought since early beta is not a good call. Specially when people who has been trying to help are investing hours and hours, providing clips and explanations to every single suggestion to not know if developers even agree on something so fundamental. Not to mention that we've been called out for 'lack of adaptation' more than once.

Noone asked anyone to compromise with anything strict RIGHT NOW though, I would happily stop playing the game seriously or to win in the future, and drop my hopes entirely if they confirmed that combat, balance and mechanics are completly fine and do not plan on working on them.
Communicating basic intentions is essential, noone cares if cavalry or archer mechanics get worked now or in 2 months, but want it to be worked on (HARD and with an open mentality, cooperating with feedback, same way we've been open and fully-adapting towards a new game), same with the constant 7 damage good looking hits. If someone disagrees on core/basic combat, mechanics and balance topics, they just need to check the feedback, specially that kind which followed each suggestion by an explanation and clips showing 'the flaw'.

I agree, but what can we do? It's how they operate and at the same time it's the people who made our favourite game. We've tried whining real hard for many months now, but it doesn't work. All that is left now is to just wait and hope for the best.

Not much aside of insisting & Not true. At least not on my side, maybe some other testers or EA players did, true, but I've not ''whined' and definetly not real hard until today(if you even consider this whining) since the start of the beta. And I think I'm trying to keep it respectful while sharing everything without not extremely calling out everything that I could or to any specific individual in particular.

All that is left now is hope for some sort of reaction and improvement in terms of communication and response(Not only typing). Perhaps explaining their point of view being transparent helps.
