Please leave all feedback relating to the Sturgia Hunter in this thread.
 
Needs more damage.
I dont think buffing its damage is a good idea. Its like putting oil in a fire.The problem is that archers are beyond broken (damage and accuracy) forcing everyone to play heavy units (that gives us a ****load of gameplay problems like pokes, slow movement, ****ty 2v1 etc., unpunishable heavy cav) The heavy units are overpowered aswell compared to the light counterparts.

If most of the infantry plays light infantry and light cav. It will probably still be one of the weakest archers, but it never was supposed to be strong. Furthermore i dont think buffs will make this unit in the current meta viable. It will be always outraded by other heavy archer units. Light units are just trash.
 
Everybody thinks of damage should increase but even hunter isn't powerfull sturgia too much better, instead of increasing the damage maybe it needs improved armor.
 
As i've mentioned in other threads, there's no justification for the Hunter costing 120 vs every other archer's 110. Perhaps these changes would be welcome?

Hunting Bow base damage increased to 42 so as to have parity with the Imperial and Aserai light archers
Sword replaced with Heavy Mace. I think the ideal stats for such a weapon would be somewhere between the Highland Mace and Eastern Heavy mace in terms of killing power, so as to have better synergy with the Shield perk
 
Bumping this thread cuz the Sturgian Sword's a downgrade from the Raider Axe, so no reason to use the Sword and Shield perk at all.

I still think that the shield perk should actually feel like an upgrade from the Raider Axe considering that you're giving up the ranged damage from the longbows. See my previous suggestion for a decent blunt weapon to pair with the shield
 
Honestly they should get a shield baseline. It's still worst light archer class.
Ranged perk weapons are longbows, and I can understand having a weaker bow if it means being able to block incoming arrows. I just think the Sword's a downgrade from the Raider Axe, personally, and it's still a better "melee weapon" bow than what the Battanian Ranger has.

See above suggestion for giving the Hunter the Light Mace formerly on Varyags, cuz TaleWorlds seems insistent about making the heavy inf an axe specialist. Other units will have to be balanced around Varyag's axe specialization due to Sturgia having poor options for blunt weapons with the current balancing
 
Hunters should be the best light archer in the game. It might elevate it to 140 gold cost, but they should be really solid unit. They are not. I understand that the faction might not have dedicated heavy archer, but it doesn't mean it have to totally suck in archery.
 
Chang their longbow for a bow more on par with other factions they really feel under performing both in a lack of range, lack of dmg (swap bow out for another one) Missing marksman perk like every other faction with bow inf has.
