Hunt the Murderer quests

I did a search for this, couldn't find a relevant answer for the Native mod.  I apologise if I missed it and this is a repost.

I recently received a "Hunt for ___ of ___, murderer, bring him to justice, he's in Jaycek" mission.  I went to Jaycek, couldn't fin anything in town or just outside it.  I thought building my reputation with the village would help, so I got it to 10 and asked around again, everyone is still in the dark.

Just can't find this murderer.

Any tips with these kind of missions?

Usually he stands behind things.
He's the only dude not moving in addition to elder.
Try finding him at dawn/some light time when villagers still sleep so you recognize him easily.

if you get close to the man and it says "Nervous man" instead of "village elder" or "town woman".. then he is it. start talking and then kill kill kill!!!!

He mostly stands just outside the village next to a building.

He's also the only person there with a sword.

Though he sometimes spawns in a location where the player cannot see or get to him.

If I was him I'd run away when a large armoured man sporting a heavy weapon comes into my remotw, middle of nowhere village.

You should be aware that in some villages there are outlying buildings like a mill on a hill where he might be hiding.
At least in two cases he wasn't there after dark, he only appeared during the day.
In one case it looks like he spawned in a group of villagers that couldn't move because of it and hid him. Leaving and reentering helped.

For me, he was once up on a hill behind a large rock.  You have to be very thorough, but once you see him there is no mistaking him.
