Grandmaster Knight
This game has tons of features and just plain old kicks ass... There are currently 4 ages to live through, but the developers plan to have 10 total the 10th being modern day...here's the link to register (and earn me money) plz make sure you use this one, I strongly suggest you give it a try, just make sure I'm listed as your sponser : http://www.greek-age.com/register.php?nom_parrain=Bgfan

Hm... you know what, despite the usual mass of browser based games that pop up on these forums as topics, this one actually looks interesting. But tell me: is this like a pen-and-paper thing, where you just type in commands like Dwarven Fortress or whatever its called, or is it more like a first/third person RPG, like M&B?

it's not like m&B, but not text based,  instead you have many activities possible, and you choose what you want to hunt if you want to hunt at all or instead steal things or sleep, what job you want to do, there are arena fights in age1, but in the other ages there is a political system where you have leaders who decide when and who to go to war with, tax rates, how much money is spent on what, of course you elect them, u can also get married, have pets, and even make a living from making things such as weapons or furniture in the higher level ages... trust me the game never gets boring since no matter how strong you get there will always be something else you'll still be unable to do untill you get even stronger, the most recent age is greek but the next is roman, you know what watch the preview it explains a lot.

Yeah, I saw the preview, but... I didn't see any gameplay videos, so I just wanted to ask. Do you have to pay anything to play?

only if you wish to cheat your way through the game by buying special items... either way you can buy special(cheat) items on the player market for game money from players who use real money to make money in the game

I tried it a year or so ago, got bored with it before I got past the Stone Age. Just a lot of grinding and annoying setbacks like getting wounded or diseased. Might've improved since then, though.

So... is it a first person game, where you can actually run around, actively hunt, and things like that, or is it more like a menu based thing?

It's menu based. There is the odd mini-game here and there, and tedious quests. You need quite a lot of patience I think.

I've played this game to the second age.

I wouldn't really recommend it , unless you've got an attention span of years. It just takes so goddamn long to do anything! It isn't a bad game or so, and once I got going into the second age it was kinda fun ( you've got clan wars and such and some drama ), heck you could even marry, but the time when I would log on and hunt and than log out again for weeks is just too boring ( I suppose if you spend money on it, that it would go faster ). Anyway my info may be out of date ( when I played the third age wasn't even released ) but if it's still the same way as it used to be, it may well take more than a year to get to age 4.

Indeed. It isn't bad I just got bored after trying to take 40 days to finish the first age and then I just wanted to move on and there was new rules that screw you over and I had to stay longer in the first to be able to do the second competently.
