How to use the Training Fields to train my recruits?

Users who are viewing this thread

Hello!
I was reading here and there about people writing that it is possible
to use the training grounds/camps to train my recruits?
I have 28 recruits (some of which are level 2 already) and i want to train them
now when i go to this training field, i see just the generic options of self training
such as archery, horseback riding and so on (where i find myself on a field smashing things)
So maybe i am missing here something? Where is the option to train my recruits?
plus the exp i gain from a complete training course doesn't really worth the time (10exp...)

You may wan't to change your avatar for... questionable reasons.

I like that avatar!
Who is that??

In sparring you can select a max of 4 opponents. If you can manage them try to train 4 at the same time. Makes things faster.

By the way: if you have ranged units (e.g. crossbowmen) they wont gain experience when you do sparring practice. They will if you do archery practice.
Same for horsemen, must do practice on horseback.

True. Don't expect xp gain for your own character. Training places are mainly for units / companions at low level.
The experience you gain there is the real one though. Learn how to parry and hit in a safe battle. No money lost if you get knocked out
You can set up your own difficulty level by deciding if you want to try your skill against one Rhodock recruit or 4 angry Nord Veterans...

sparring takes a ****load of time. Just get your trainer level up or find heroes with a high trainer level.

Sparring works for recruits and for melee troops.

In the other "self"training modes when you start practicing your army will stand around to watch you while you train and they will learn from it (they will gain exp)
Ranged training with crossbows will give exp for your crossbow troops, archery training will give exp for your bow users and mounted training will give exp for your cavalry.

Altough you are way better with the training skill, the training field just doent give enough exp to worth it.
If you want to practice melee fight you should go to the arena in the cities and join the always available melee fights.
